Wow, really? We got a few mostly tame and pretty ignorant insults from some students before the game, but afterwards, we had alums inviting us to parties at their house.

As impressive as the Wisky student section was... I wasn't that impressed.
Let me preface this response by first saying that Bowling Green is not even a close rival to Wisconsin. My dad is also in his sixties.

After the game my dad and I had about a twenty minute walk back to our car. Went fine for about 2 minutes until 2 students came up behind us. All they did was throw garbage, spit, and say every four and five letter word to us for the rest of our walk. They were two pussies in the middle of thousands wearing red on each side of the street. I mean what could we really do? You make one move and your outnumbered like no other.

What pissed me off the most through this walk was that not a single one of their fans witnessing this said a word to these two assholes. Those bystanders including students and alums of all ages. We did everything we could to get away from them crossing the street and walking fast. Not until we reached the car were we relieved of them. Pretty much ruined our trip. My dad hasn't been to a college football game since.

They only did it because they had numbers behind them. I could have handled these two clowns by myself and I am not big.

Since then I despise every to do with that school.

However, I happen to think these things go on everywhere.
Wow, Kdog, that sucks. You run into a-holes like that everywhere, and if that had happened to me, I'd feel the same as you.
I was actually treated great by Wisky alums and students alike. Granted, I was with a group of 7 other Falcon fans. The local pubs we hit after the game, I had students buying me shots.
Sorry to hear about your experience.

On the bright side...they didn't try to burn anything like fans of a certain central Ohio institution.

I never said that BS wasnt stupid either, but atleast they are not asaulting people and atleast they are not dumb enough to video tape it so there faces are all over the news and the internet.

Everybody has stupid fans but that crap at PSU is rediculous.

OSU has cleaned things up a lot. The dumb s**t still happens, it happens everywhere, but has been in less quantities lately and a lot less sever. PSU just keeps getting worse.

http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsbu ... 36015.html

It's arguably the most fight Pitt has shown during a football weekend in recent memory.

But it was for all the wrong reasons.

Richard A. Eisenberger Jr., 20, a University of Pittsburgh student, was charged with disorderly conduct and harassment in connection with an off-campus brouhaha before the Penn State-Ohio State football game last weekend, State College police said Friday.

Police said they identified Eisenberger, of Easton, as the man seen in an online video throwing a beer can at an Ohio State fan Saturday night.
The unnamed victim, a 21-year-old Ohio State student, was walking through an outdoor party at the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity when party-goers became hostile, police said.

A video of the incident surfaced on YouTube.com and shows the victim being pelted with beer cans. Eisenberger struck the victim with a beer can near the neck, police said.

Pitt spokesman John Fedele said Eisenberger could face disciplinary action at Pitt and that the university would cooperate with authorities.

Eisenberger could not be reached for comment.

The victim suffered bruises from the attack but did not require medical treatment, police said.

The fraternity was charged with disorderly conduct, police said. Penn State's Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life has temporarily suspended Pi Kappa Alpha chapter activities until the investigation is complete.

Nice to hear the love for Wisconsin fans.

For what its worth: at the 2006 game, a former colleague and friend (a BGSU alum, the same as my wife and I), hung out at the tailgate sponsored by one of the UW message boards and the Great Lakes Brewery and was treated very well and plied with beer and brats and banter about Omar Jacobs. Walking through the parking lot with him I got plenty of "Wisky sux" crap from a number of BGSU fans, and my wife and I were called "n-----r lovers" by a bunch of rather, ummm, "rustic" BG fans (no way they were alums). That put a rather sour face on an enjoyable evening up to that point.

Are some Wisky fans a--holes? Yup, I won't deny that. But nothing compares to the knuckle-draggers that are Iowa fans.

Seems pretty obvious, put enough people from Pennsylvania in one place and their in-bred insanity manifest itself in weird ways.

Those with top notch educations would correctly spell "ridiculous" and not capitalize it when it is not the first word in a sentence. :-D
