Haneline's foot NOT broken
According to The Blade, he strained some ligaments in his foot, and while he's still wearing a boot, Brandon isn't ruling out a return. Good news for John and the Falcons!
Meantime, he's spending his downtime coaching up Glen Stanley, who could be just as beastly in time....

TG,
Read that earlier this AM and was relieved Haneline's foot is not broken. Stanley made an immediate impact filling in and I am jacked to see what he does at EMU. His speed and tenacity is impressive. Haneline is a real leader...guys that take the younger players aside to tell them what to expect. Hope to see JH back on the field soon...he was having an All MAC season.

I figured that was likely what was meant by "may return", with only about 2 1/2 weeks left in the season. If that's the case, I hope we get to see him on the field again this year!BGFootball wrote:consider him done for the season and a possible return if we make it to a bowl game.....

Brandon Jackson...
Its nice to see Glen Stanley is improving but what about guys with more experience in the program like Brandon Jackson? We stole him from SEC Ole Miss and he's got the LB size now as apposed to Stanley who last I checked barely registers above 200lbs. I understands Stanley has speed but BJ doesn't? I don't know, I expected that kid to be in the rotation at LB and I haven't heard a sniff about that kid. Jackson was supposed to be a stud.
I hate to bring up the size of our defensive players mantra again, but many of you have been complaining about how our defense has been getting pushed around and having a swiss cheese run D. Just an observation here.

No you don't. You love bringing it up. If you didn't love it, you wouldn't constantly do it.Falconboy wrote:I hate to bring up the size of our defensive players mantra again, but many of you have been complaining about how our defense has been getting pushed around and having a swiss cheese run D. I don't know what the deal with Jackson may be, but Glen Stanley came off the bench when one of the studs of our defense went down with an injury and barely missed a beat. To question why he's on the field after that performance is asinine.

Yea, what's going on with Jackson, he was recruited to be a key player last year but I've never seen him on the field. He looked as big and fast as Haneline and Basler. Is he on the practice squad or something? We need some LB's that can get off blocks and stop the ball at the LOS, not tackle from behind 8 - 12 yards down field.
This downward shifting of personnel has definitely contibuted to the porous run defense.vwfalcon wrote:BJack has been moved to DE...so that is where he stands...
We move our safeties to linebacker, our linebackers to defensive end, our defensive ends to defensive tackle, and our defensive tackles to the offensive line.

And then move them back again. It's no wonder the defense is inconsistent.JoeFalcon wrote:This downward shifting of personnel has definitely contibuted to the porous run defense.vwfalcon wrote:BJack has been moved to DE...so that is where he stands...
