Goodbye Lloyd.

Post by NWLB »

It was a hard fought game, but Michigan just wasn't playing on par with Ohio State. I'm still not an OSU fan, but 6-1 against an arch rival, wow. Hard to believe after all those years of hearing OSU fans bemoan having Cooper dying against them.

Prior to this game Carr had called a press conference for 10am on Monday to "discuss his future with the University of Michigan." Happy retirement Lloyd.

God bless him, whatever he does. He's always been a class act.

Oh, come off it. Do you have to be such an AZZ hole all the time? Take a break, man.

I have no love lost for Michigan, but I can still respect a decent man when I see one.

Good man, pretty good recruiter, even considering the built in helmet-advantage, but a coach who's time was up about 5 years ago.

And so begins the Les Miles Era.

We had a kid from our hometown who was a walk-on placekicker at Michigan a few years ago who had yet to play a down. His dad died suddenly and Coach Carr not only came down for the viewing but was back a couple days later for the funeral as well. He easily could have sent a position coach on the 2 hour trip to represent the Michigan program but his being there said a lot about him as a human being. You can debate all you want about his coaching ability but he'll always be a class act in my book.

Actually, Tekie has been behaving himself unusually well lately. He didn't say Carr wasn't decent- said he was grumpy. I always thought he seemed a little grumpy myself. My dad is the most decent man I know but he can be a little grumpy. Now if you want to call Teke on hyperbole you might have a case but you want to be careful there. ;-)

I didn't say that I don't have respect for him. I just said that he is just grumpy all of the time.

Jeeze! It was just a fricking observation, dude.

chill out.

A couple years back Jeff Tedford at Cal said he would be interested in the Michigan job if it opened. Also, interestingly enough, I think he can still leave his contract anytime with minimum penalty because part of his contract had stadium renovations, which have been stalled because of a bunch of treehuggers. That may lead to Tedford bolting for Michigan, you never know.

... it may be the first time in history where hippies actually did something productive.

The whole point of being a hippy was to not do anything productive. Are you saying they failed?

Miles may seem to be the more obvious choice, but what about Bo Pellini? Isn't he due?
