"The announcement also drew praise from Western Athletic Conference Commissioner Karl Benson. "I am confident that the MAC will provide a quality opponent," he said. "

Ahhh, Karl. Not that the WAC has much choice, but its good to see the old MAC commish involved with the process.

I think they repeated the phrase "deserving" team a bit much. Noting past bowl wins might have been better.

Playing Fresno....mmmmm. I consider watching the 1991 Cal Bowl as the moment I got hooked on BGSU sports. It would be interesting to have recordings of two bowl games against them.

Sadly, I have the 1985 California Bowl on tape. But it took years of therapy to overcome seeing that game (and living through that week) once. Don't think I can do it again.

Thanks Denny.

if BG comes out here where I live for the SVB I'll be bummed -- I'm actually driving to South Carolina this Christmas to visit the 'rents.

I've not missed a BGSU west coast foray since graduation.

Pac Bell Park is beautiful -- get the garlic fries! Beer is sooo expensive.

I have a copy of the Cal Bowl, thanks to whomever left the big bag full of them, in the main closet of the Alumni center while I was cleaning it out.

I haven't been to Frisco since I was a kid. They had just put the trollies back into service. I recall kids tossing ant-acid tablets to seaguls flying behind the ferry (boat) we took a ride on.

We should collect info on who has what games on tape from which years. It might be handy to pool resources and burn them to disc before the tapes give out.

it San Francisco, not Frisco...

the natives get restless...

trolleys are busses that run on overhead wires

cable cars are those cute little things that run on a cable pulling them underground -- absolutely worth the wair in line and $3-5 fee

pay for cable car after boarding

the California Street cable car line is never busy

don't be shocked by the number of bums per square inch in the joint

i'd love to see that California Rasin Bowl from 1991 on video -- don't have that!

What is the gravitational pull on San Francisco from Barry Bonds' massive, growth hormone effected noggin?

I imagine that an object that size that carries an electro-magnetic charge could really play hell with tidal patterns, compasses and even pacemakers

The Frisco Burger got its name from someplace.

I thought the busses were strange.

I just recall hordes of people standing around a turntable watching the cable car getting ready to depart for the day. Mister Rogers call's his cute little red thing a trolly, thats the first name that comes to mind.

My wife glares at me when I call soda, pop.

This is an awesome idea. I'll contribute some coin to the project if it meant I could get copies of the end result.
