I think the consensus was that they would be good. But few of us MAC fans thought they would actually win the title, much less four in a row.Bleeding Orange wrote:You weren't here for it (and neither was I, for that matter), but I don't think anyone thought Marshall would be anything to contend with when they joined the MAC.
But I agree with you: '24 is needlessly insulting Buffalo. That's a pretty good team -- and they should be excited in Buffalo, becuase that team has been awful for years.
This is a huge win for us, and it wasn't inevitable by any means.

Believe it or not, I do not disagree with everything you say, and I certainly do not hate you. You are young, as I once was, and as we all once were. When we're young, we all say stupid things. I remember that right after I joined in 2003 I was asking about joining the Big 10 around here. A stupid question, for sure, but I didn't know any better at the time. I guess that is why I try to challenge you the way I do - I've been there before.bgsufalcon24 wrote:
Maybe I was a bit off base by saying that Buffalo would always be a pretender though.
In this instance, I think the above quoted statement sums up nicely what I was trying to assert in my previous post. Just because a program sucks for a certain ammount of time doesn't mean that a program will suck forever. Look at BG's PP in hockey. It has been one of the worst in the country for several years, but, seemingly out of nowhere, it is now among the best in the country. Things change in every program, all the time. I guess that is why your statements have seemed odd to me today. I just want you to think about them. Nothing more, nothing less.

It is not my intention to do away with government. It is rather to make it work - work with us, not over us; stand by our side, not ride on our back. Government can and must provide opportunity, not smother it; foster productivity, not stifle it. ~Ronald Reagan

Except this had nothing to do with being negative.BGDrew wrote:In summary: "Don't be a douchebag and be negative for negativity sake."Bleeding Orange wrote:Believe it or not, I do not disagree with everything you say, and I certainly do not hate you. It has everything to do with being negative. A lot of your outrageous statements and generalizations are, in one way or another, negative. I've always been a "glass half full" kind of guy, so my stupid statements are generally irrationally positive. We all manifest our stupidity in our own special ways.bgsufalcon24 wrote:Except this had nothing to do with being negative.BGDrew wrote:In summary: "Don't be a douchebag and be negative for negativity sake."Bleeding Orange wrote:Believe it or not, I do not disagree with everything you say, and I certainly do not hate you. Flipper, for instance, does so by inflicting unnecessary, outlandish physical harm upon his person.
