BG WINS!

Post by Rightupinthere »

I can't believe the score. Good defensive game plan and execution. The boys were prepared and they executed.

GREAT WIN!

I need to buy a lottery ticket. UT only scoring 10 against BG is driving that decision. I'm personally shocked.

Too bad about bum losses against key opponents, but what's there to complain about? I fancy Toronto. Fingers crossed.

We're a lock if MiAudi beats OU tomorrow. If they lose, then it will be too early to tell. If Miami loses tomorrow and the MACC, they are ineligible for a bowl (at least that's my understanding.)

If Miami loses the next two, BG may be headed to GMAC.

I've wondered all year what would happen when the offense, defense and kicking game were functioning effectively together, and today the answer came in the form of a Toledo butt-kicking. It was an intelligent, daring gameplan executed almost flawlessly by a bunch of players playing with heart and passion who wouldn't be denied.

Congratulations to the players (especially the seniors) and coaches. It was a hell of a game and one they'll remember for the rest of their lives.

Best I've seen BG play this year. It's always more fun to go to a game and beat Toledo, and badly. Congrats to all the guys who put the hard work in and let's all hope for a bowl game.

Wish I would've known you were their Seibs. My brother's in town and he was at the game with me.

Yeah, it was an awesome gameplan and it was executed nearly flawlessly. I don't know how anyone could find anything to complain about in this game...total domination.

What a great day! My little brother and I made the trip from Strongsville this afternoon. We got to see a great BG win, do some celebrating on the field afterward, kick some FGs in the postgame, we just had a ball. That's the most fun I've had at DLP in a long time.

We're on our way to a bowl for sure now.

Probably the most "complete" game I've seen us play since the NIU game in 2003.

Well worth the 9hr round trip car drive. I was really surprised but happy with how well we played all around, but especially on D!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

I thought UT just plain self-destructed. Wow, talk about shooting yourself in the foot. It was good, however, to see it happen to someother team for a change ---- and twice as rewarding since it happened to UT. I thought their offensive punch was simply unimpressive and their offensive line --- simply nonathletic. By comparison, I thought the BG offensive line looked almost professional. Anyway, it was a nice momentum shift and I hope BG carries this win with optimism right into a bowl game.

I think the notion that UT simply self destructed is selling the defense waaaaay short. They were able to move the ball a bit between the 20's by working shorter, quicker throws and mixing in some runs. They were taking what the defense gave them, but still having to work pretty hard to get those yards. Once they got in the red zone, the defense was able to take away those shorter routes while still containing the run. When Cochran was forced to wait that extra tick for a WR to work open, he had a DLineman pounding him for a sack, hurry or knockdown. They were getting pressure on the QB rushing four guys for the most part and that allowed them to drop seven into coverage.

The game went much like the Akron game...they ran around between the 20's and got stuffed in the red zone.

For me a real highlight was the punt in the 4th qtr by Iovinelli from our 38...UT brought the rush but the snap was perfect, the protection was good, Nick only took towo steps to kick it and he banged out a mile high punt down to the 20 for the fair catch by Moore.

After what we went through last year...that was a sight to behold :-)

Uh, we don't return punts. Ever. There is something in the playbook that forbids it. But as for the D- I kept wondering where the D that got eaten up for all the rushing yards this year was. You guys stuffed Parmalee better than most- I think there was not a lot of fear of our passing game so you could stack the line a little but while we made some bonehead plays, BG's Defense was the real story.
