Vandelay linked an article by a 1-AA fan site. I was amazed at the dislike for the mid-majors by the author. The text and tone made it clear that this person was really hoping for harsh things to happen to low ranked 1A teams, and that they would "fall" back to 1AA. The article provides a lot of insight into the mentality of some people who support that level of football. Frankly it also made me dislike people with the point of view expressed in the article. It is the same kind of galling BS we used to hear about MAC football ten years ago. Some people have to learn to let go. Others need to realize they aren't holding on to anything in the first place.

Link didn't work for me, either.
I've heard the babble from "big" 1-AA fans, too. What do they hope to gain from the UCF's of the world moving to 1-AA? Do they think that fewer 1-A schools would equal more money and/or exposure for their program? Get real. I mean, did they get more money and/or exposure in the 70s?
We all have our burdens to bear. The mid-majors will continue to grouse about the BCS shafting us. The 1-AA folks can carry their grudge, too.

This link should work. http://www.i-aa.com/news/article_6523.shtml
If this guy would subject himself to some editing (and self-control), this could be a pretty good piece.
He makes some valid points and I think we can all agree that most MAC schools have had horrific attendance this year. Of course, his over-the-top attitude tends to strip him of any real credibility.

This was a response from an Akron fan to the previously posted article on this thread. He responsed to I-aa.com about the attendance requirement set up by the NCAA. All and all, a pretty good response by a Zips fan. It's good to see some passion coming out of Akron.
