I hate Miami more than Toledo.
Always have.
Always will.

Huh? I'm still confused. Could someone shed some light on why Miami losing is a bad thing? Maybe the title of this thread is misleading. The OU loss is costly to MIAMI (which is good...right?), not costly to BG.
It's not a bad thing...our loss at home to a beatable OU squad was the bad thing. If we could have won that game we'd be in the MACC...of course the same can be said for the Miami game itself, but that was a road game.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Yeah, the Ohio game was a contest we probably should have won. That int return for a TD by their DL really did us in after we started a comeback. I would like our chances playing against either Ohio or Miami right now.
So now its the MAC that has egg on its face again. Not only did we finish with a better overall record than Miami (8-4 to 6-6), but we finished with a better conference record as well (6-2 to 5-2). I'm not really sure you could make an argument at this point that Miami is the better team, yes we lost to them head to head, but over the whole body of work, it seems as if the best team in the MAC won't be in the championship game this season.
What a crock.

I've said it a million times and I will say it again. If you can't score an offensive touchdown against Akron (Miami won 7-0 on a defensive score) then you shoudn't win anything or go to any bowl. Just my two cents.

What about the theory that defense wins championships? Granted, Miami did not win any championships by beating Akron, except of course the MAC East Championship.

It seems fair to say that Miami has regressed since their game against us while we have dramatically improved. CMU is the beneficiary because they get a wounded, shaken, struggling team to play in the MACC instead of the hottest team in the league.
