The MAC is much stronger since Novak turned the NIU program around. Sad to see him go out after a tough season like this one.

The academic record of his players is very impressive weighed against 7 straight winning seasons.

I got this from my Mom, who works at, and graduated from NIU. I definitely agree that the MAC is better, more well respected, and more "noticed" than before he turned the NIU program around. His work is quite evident in Chicagoland, and before the Illini turned their program around, they were advertising themselves as "The best college football team in Illinois." God bless the man. Like Terry Hoeppner, he brought a ton of class and integrity to this conference, and I hope he lands on his feet somewhere very soon. With guys like him, I always think the sport is the richer for them.
