Something I've been wondering.. what exactly makes miami more attractive than us to the GMAC? I can think of a couple ideas why would be the better choice:
1) It's a generally accepted fact that they prefer teams with high scoring offenses. Miami is 106th in the nation, averaging 20.0 pts/game, while BGSU is 36th at 32.1 pts/game
2) Same theory with yardage thrown in... Total(rank)/Passing(rank)/Rushing(rank)
BG - 431.8(42nd)/286.8(18th)/130.1(88th)
MU - 386.6(77th)/234.7(52nd)/137.3(78th)
We've outgained them in total and passing yards, while they have a slight edge on the ground.
3) We've finished the year on a roll winning the last 4 games while MU is 2-2.

$300 is pretty expensive for a college student to travel to a football game.

speaking of the FMB, if we do end up in the GMAC Bowl, I'm curious as to how Dr. Hayward will get everyone out of the first day attendance policy, seeing as how the last time we made the trip, it took almost 24 hours to drive back. damn ohio weather and the snow!! Unless the university announces that the first day attendance policy will be moved back for the entire student body (yeah, I know this most likely would not apply to student teachers)FMBfan07 wrote:That's why i love being in the FMB!! well i mean there is many other reason i love it too!BGDrew wrote:$300 is pretty expensive for a college student to travel to a football game.

Seeing as how the football team, marching band, and cheerleaders would be representing BGSU on a national stage I have no doubt that a special exemption would be made for them.Strouse wrote:speaking of the FMB, if we do end up in the GMAC Bowl, I'm curious as to how Dr. Hayward will get everyone out of the first day attendance policy, seeing as how the last time we made the trip, it took almost 24 hours to drive back. damn ohio weather and the snow!! If only they'd also invented the "Fundraiser to Fly Peregrinner to the GMAC Bowl" as well.Schadenfreude wrote:That's why some of our ancestors here in Ohio invented the aeroplane.Peregrinner wrote:The GMAC sounds amazing, but I really doubt I'd be able to go, unless I wanted to make the crazy drive back that night and potentially miss class anyway.
I'm completely broke and will be even more so when bowl season rolls around. I've got my long-awaited trip to Lambeau Field on Dec. 8th-9th and fully intend to spend well beyond my means that weekend.
Now, Toronto on the other hand...

Back when I cheered for BG, they just had me be responsible for informing my profs and instructors. If there was a conflict and I couldn't go, then I couldn't go. I never had a trip I couldn't make.
I wish work was the same, but I'm just starting out and am really not trying to take any time off.
I can't wait to watch! If/when we get a bowl bid. I'll be thankful to get one more chance to see BG play this year.

Mobile- I am excited with the chances of a return to the GMAC Bowl. I have a dilemma though, would you recommend The Dew Drop Inn for lunch then Brick Pit for dinner or the other way around???MobileBama wrote:***TTT*** Never too early to start planning. I guess the bids will go out this weekend
LOVED Brick Pit in '04, didn't get a chance to try the Dew Drop. . . .

Dew Drop for lunch, but get there early (11:15) The chili burgers and hot dogs are to die for. I don't think it's open for dinner. Brick Pit has the best pulled pork, but for ribs, try Dreamland. I'll give you a full list of "must-try" restaurants after the game.
