Important upcoming MAC games this week.
11/26
Ohio travels to Holy Cross for their biggest non-conference game thus far. Out of their nc games this year this should be the biggest indicator of how this team will be this year in the MAC.
Temple also travels to Akron this evening. It'll be interesting to see how the Zips handle Tyndale and Christmas.
11/27
Ball St. heads to Hawk Hill to play St. Joes. If Ball St. can play the way they did against G-Town this could be another huge win for the MAC.
BG @ Furman. I think a must win on the road, we have to be able to beat teams we should beat on the road.
11/28--Big night for the MAC
Dayton @ Miami. Lets see if Miami can keep it rolling against another solid A10 team. Miami already took down 1 A10 power can they make it 2?
Toledo @ UNC Wilmington. Boy do the Rockets need to get on track. A win here might get the ship sailing the right way again.
St. Louis @ Kent. Big time game for Kent and the MAC. St. Louis has been picked to finish in the top 4 of the A10 this year, if the Flashes can win here it would be a great RPI win for them and the conference.
Western @ Valpo. This would be a nice win for the Broncos on the road against a solid Horizon league team.
Detroit @ Eastern. A solid Horizon League team would be another nice win for the MAC.
11/29
OU @ Temple. Temple playing the MAC East continues.
12/1
Miami @ Louisville. Miami can't beat another high profile team and keep things rolling. Right?
BG @ Oakland. This game looks a lot tougher as Oakland gave Mich. St. all they wanted and more losing by only 4 to the Spartans.
Wyoming @ Akron. Wyoming usually a solid team out of the WAC. Would be a good win for the Zips.

CMU lost to UIC by 13.

Very, very painful loss for the MAC.Falcon137 wrote:Miami blows 35 from Bramos, up 20 midway through the 1st, up 33-18 at half. And losses! Dayton puts 45 up in the 2nd half and wins on a 3 with 2 seconds to go from Brian Roberts. Wow, tough one for the Redhawks. 63-62 Flyers.
WMU is currently down by 12 to freaking Valpo. Toledo came back against UNC-Wilmington but still lost. EMU had the lead against Detroit but lost. CMU lost, but that's expected.
Overall, a crappy night for the MAC until you get to this: Kent beat Saint Louis by 41. This is the A-10 Saint Louis that produced Larry Hughes. The 5-3 squad that lost by 11 at #22 Pitt and had decisive wins against Detroit and Furman. Surreal.

I wouldn't worry too much about how this affects the conference. Nobody will care whether Western Michigan got by Valpo or if Toledo withstood UNC Wilmington in November. They'll take notice when someone makes a legitimate run in the NCAAs in March like Kent did a few years back.
But you fool! What about if someone has the chance to get in as an at-large?
None of these games is a make-or-breaker on the resume. After we eat our own during the grind of conference play, you need a couple gaudy, signature wins. These institutions don't fit this profle, nor are they so hideous that a loss to them would be a disqualifier.
I'll disagree with you here. That hurt Miami big time for an at large chance. They have games with Louisville, Kansas, and Illinois coming up. Dayton would have been big RPI points for them and gave them a 4-1 record and with the schedule coming up they don't have a good shot at winning another high profile game. If they were to beat Dayton and pull an upset either at Louisville or Illinois they had a great shot at an at large. Now, even upsetting one of them might not do it. I think Miami will win a bunch of MAC games to get to right around the 22-24 win mark. That Dayton game was a big loss for them and the MAC.
