ARRRRGH! ECU fan here

Post by chemstock »

The odds are fairly high that we might be your next opponent in the GMAC Bowl. I have a friend who is a BG grad. and he is loving the idea of the two schools playing. Says he will make the trip.
If UCF beats TU Saturday, it will happen. TU wins you will play UCF.
I think UCF has the better team and is playing at home.

To get things going on a friendly note, I have linked a few hightlights of our season. Here check it out.......

Just sharing........

Ahoy, matey!

So what have you heard on your end about BG playing in the GMAC? We're kinda going on the "understood, but unannounced" principle here among our fanbase, and some folks won't be sure that we're bowling at all until they see our name on the game program.

If we do get down there and play ECU, our last meeting in 1992 was probably the kind of game the GMAC Bowl drools over...

TG, I remember that game. It was much like the Browns and Cardinals will be this weekend

I remember that game in '92, gave me a reason to follow them as they went on to good things, Peach Bowl if I recall? Also, Doug Williams was an asst. coach and after the game I went to see Geogre H.W. Bush speak on the train tracks in BG.

Political pop culture trivia- what band's music video did George Herbert Walker Joyner Kersey Bush make while making a negative comment about them while in BG?

Ahoy, Matey!

The last GMAC Bowl against a C-USA opponent was a blast! Mobile provides a fantastic experience.

Noel, I remember that '92 game well too. We designed a few plays on the back forty based around ECU's offense. I don't remember what the exact plays were though...some sort of bootlegs?

That little #5 is Chris Johnson and the Pro scouts have aready put a watch on him. Last spring he ran a 4.25 and 4.28. Mel Kiper says he's a top 5 rated RB. I think the Pros want him to run back kicks.

here he is against UCF (who we put 52 points on)

Actually they were coming off an 11-1 season and a Peach Bowl victory in '91, Jeff Blake was their QB that season. I do remember they had some huge offensive linemen when they played at BG and TE who went on to the NFL but his name escapes me.

Didn't Carlester play a few years in the NFL also? for the Seahawks maybe? At any rate, he still has a great football name.
