Yes, there is a big difference between the best college and worst NFL team. It would be ugly. Back in the 70's the defending super bowl champs used to play a team of college all stars. They stopped those games because they were not real competitive.
The games were fairly competitive considering the nature of the two teams. Here's a history of the scores

Let's just think about this real rationally.
The best players BG has had in recent memory, the guys we all thought had NFL shots.
Omar Jacobs -- Currently out of football.
Josh Harris -- Playing Arena football
Cole Magner -- Playing Arena football
Steve Sanders -- Practice Squad for the Browns
Charles Sharon -- Practice Squad for the Jags
Shaun Suisham -- Kicker for WAS
Khary Campbell -- STs/Role player for WAS
PJ Pope -- Practice Squad for Bears
Keon Newson -- Out of football
Janssen Patton -- Out of football
Scott M (no clue how to spell it) -- Backup in SD
Robert Redd -- Playing Arena football
That's just off the top of my head the best players that I remember us producing in the last 5-6 years or so. In that group there are only 3 that are on an active NFL roster and only the kicker is a starter.
Now, looking at our roster right now I would take these guys over the current starter in their position at every single spot with the possible exception of keeping Lichtensteiger over Scott.
The point? The best players we've had in the last 5 years, nearly all of whom are better than our current players at their position, are mostly not sniffing NFL playing time. You're trying to tell me that you think the current Falcons, who were 8-4 in the MAC would even compete with the Browns who are 7-4 in the NFL?!? Wow. I'm sorry, but you're way off base. The backups for the Browns are better than most of the BG starters will ever be. Same could be said for any other collegiate team.
As J4H said. The Miami Dolphins would beat a collegiate all star team. The difference in talent level is HUGE. Citing the history of that old game shows that the NFL teams pretty much always won back then. Personally I think the talent discrepancy is probably a lot more now than it was back then. NFL teams are also light years ahead of college teams in scheme complexity. I love college football, but to compare it to college ball is absurd.
