Official Mobile Attendees Info. Thread

Post by Dayons_Den »

Just made a reservation at the downtown Ramada at $203 for Saturday and Sunday night.

Will be arriving to Mobile Sat. afternoon, picking pops up at the airport at 2, then Brick Pit then down town fun.

Would like to get a tailgate going down there as well. I know there is an official thing, but since we are driving I was considering bringing our grill and hoisting the flags one last time for the '07 season.

Post your information here and we can get a good handle on who all is going and where we can meet up.

We need to get a bar secured for Saturday night. . .. .

Can't wait to return to Mobile!!!

We are working out the details so we can go. Probably driving.

Is there going to be a package deal through the university? Hotel, tickets, etc?

Have not missed a bowl game since 1991, so you know our record when I am there :)

Here is a link to the packages offered:

$595 for two nights at the team hotel downtown.... vs... $203 at the Ramada downtown. Would be nice to be at the team hotel but that is a hell of a difference in price. . .

Per the bar local, I belive the GMAC guy who has been posting the last few days alluded to securing a bar for the falcon faithful. Maybe he will chime in some time soon.
Yeah right girl!

It looks like if you want a room only at the Mobile Mariott its $140 per night. Not a bad deal at all.

My, what a difference a week makes!

I am able to fly solo for this here bowl game so expect to see the Freak in Mobile. I had to cut costs anywhere and everywhere so this is what I did...

I booked a flight on Air Tran flying outta Akron/Canton to Pensacola on Saturday the 5th at 5:50 AM...with a stop in Atlanta. Living 10-15 min from the Akron/Canton Airport is the best! ETA in Pensacola is 9:25 AM. Rented a car from Hertz at an unbelievable rate to make the one hour drive to Mobile. Should be in Mobile no later than 11 AM and will be staying at the Red Roof Inn on Service Road (Off I 65) Sat and Sun night for a grand total of $85. As long as it's clean, I don't care! LOL. This RR Inn is less than 4 miles from the stadium.

Mrs. Freak is going to Dayton Monday the 7th on an overnight business trip. I was able to book the return flight leaving Pensacola at 10 AM Monday, stop in Atlanta and then home to Akron/Canton by 4:15 PM. Grab my car from parking, hit I 77 and I'm home within 15 minutes...just in time so the sitter that stays with the boys after school can get home. I love it when a plan comes together. I don't like the fact the boys can't go but they have school on the 7th and I've taken them out early twice this year for EMU and Akron.

I plan on tailgating although bringing the grill could be tricky this time. I don't know if it will fit underneath my seat on the plane. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated as far as when all the festivities will take place and where I need to be.

Whew....Now I just need to get a ticket to the game and I'm set.

ROLL ALONG!

I'll certainly be there! 12 for 12 so far, gonna make it 13 for 13. As for getting there and back, that's another adventure to worry about soon. I expect I'm driving both ways and just gonna haul ass to get back to BG for classes the next day.

If you are driving, would you consider adding another to your trip? I'm sure it sounds weird but I'm a BG student also.. and I REALLY want to go to the game. Of course we'd have to be back before Monday classes.. but if you think we can work something out and split transportation costs, let me know

finding a way

Post by fulch »

freak...I rarely post, but I've gathered that you are a HUGE fan. When I read last week that you had various reasons for not being able to go, I thought to myself, "this guy needs to find a way..." Looks like you did. :)

I've been lucky enough to go to several bowl games, and have never regretted a penny I spent. Nice work and enjoy the game!

Per MobileBama's suggestion I think we go with Pat's as a bar meeting place on Saturday pre and post the parade/pep rallies.
