I don't think Whitemore is hurt. He was sitting up in the stands in a suit during the game last night. My guess is since it was not a conference game, nor a game that posed much of a threat being that we faced Wayne State, I think coach wanted to give Whitty a rest and get ready for the bulk of the CCHA scheddy with scUM coming up friday at the Ice Arena.
GO ICERS!!!

Forever a Falcon!!
Seeing the way Wayne State played most of the third period, it was probably a good thing to keep him out. Intent to injure everywhere. Absolutely no reason for a team to play like that. Hard hits are ok, but flying elbows and butt ends are not.Puckhead wrote:According to Ray Whitmore: A Wayne St D-man fell on Dereks knee in the 1st period Friday. Derek gutted it out for the rest f the game.
I have no idea of prognosis .
And how in the hell can a player call a penalty? After Kai's second goal one of the Wayne State players complained to the ref about something. The ref talked to each linesman, then Solway goes to the box for slashing after the whistle. I have never seen a ref call a penalty like that. No indication of anything before the player complained.

Oh, I have. And the best part was, the ref--who did not even see the play in question--called a major and tossed the guy. The WRONG guy. He did manage to get one of the five players that was actually on the ice, but he picked the guy that was physically the furthest from the play in question.pdt1081 wrote: And how in the hell can a player call a penalty? Of course, this was also the worst referee I've ever seen in my life. At any level.
I don't see a major penalty in the stats. The five players with roughing penalties at 19:47 were sent off the ice to avoid, ah, additional disagreements, I imagine. Their penalties didn't end until after the game ended.McConvey wrote:Oh, I have. And the best part was, the ref--who did not even see the play in question--called a major and tossed the guy. I forget who (Kantola?), but a BG player was prone on the ice in front of the net in the 3rd when a Warrior punched him in the back of the head. From his gestures, I think Paluch described the event to McInchak, to no avail.

I saw that WS guy shove his head in the ice from up where the band was seated. I had to do a double take when I saw a falcon go into the box.
Yeah right girl!

Different incident. pdt said he'd never seen a player talk a ref into calling a penalty after he'd initially let it go and I said I had seen it before.BG84 wrote:I don't see a major penalty in the stats. And the referee I'm referring to is far worse than anything the CCHA has to offer.
