Items to pack for Mobile?
Hopefully we will need these in Mobile.

Last time not so much.
We will be packing our rain stuff we bought down there in 2004 as well. I remember there were lots of fans from both teams at the local sporting goods store picking up hurricane gear before the game.
Mobile weather averages high 61, and low 39 in January.

I go through sunglasses like chewing gum. You'd think after wearing regular glasses for some 30 years, I'd take better care of them. As it is, I tend to buy my sunglasses at the dollar store.hammb wrote:For $17 I would expect them to be pretty crappy sunglasses.
After buying quite a few pairs of knock off Oakleys and other $15 sunglasses, I eventually broke down and bought the real thing. That has been a good decision. I'd never buy any other pair of sunglasses.

I bought 4 pairs of these on Ebay a while ago...gave one to Falcon Fanatic and the Freaklings each have a pair as well.
They are OK...nothing great. It was the novelty that led me to buying them.
I also buy the cheapest SG's I can find cuz, Like 87, I seem to go thru them too often.

We were issued Oakleys in Iraq, and they have been the only sunglasses, that I have not been able to destroy. Worth the money.hammb wrote:For $17 I would expect them to be pretty crappy sunglasses.

As far as stuff to bring to the game as long as it is orange who cares? The rain last time was a warm rain.
That's exactly it man. I went through sunglasses like crazy too, until I finally ponied up and bought a good pair. Now I've had the same pair for about 5 years. I did buy a new set of lenses for them because the original lenses got scratched up, but the quality of them is light years over the cheapo glasses.MajorFalcon92 wrote:We were issued Oakleys in Iraq, and they have been the only sunglasses, that I have not been able to destroy. If you go through them because they break, I'd pony up & buy some good ones. If you're losing them, then I guess it makes sense to not buy a $150 pair of sunglasses

My frames are the grey, but I have these fire iridium lenses that are plenty orange
Either way, they are great sunglasses and well worth the money, IMO.
I've destroyed them (kids in the pool, kids on the baseball field, kids on the football field, kids playing in the snow), I've lost them golfing, shopping, at the pool, in airports ... the thought of losing or destroying a $150 pair of sunglasses gives me chest pains!hammb wrote:If you go through them because they break, I'd pony up & buy some good ones. If Mrs. Freak found out I was buying a pair of SGs for $150, my you know what would be in a vice. LOL! She bought me 3 pairs at Giant Falcon for $1.99 each 3 years ago...I have one pair left.
One pair fell out of my pants while sleeping in the Atlanta Airport on our way back from Oregon this past summer...I didn't know it until I was on the plane.
As far as a poncho, I have 2 BGSU ponchos from the bookstore and I'll pack them both in case anyone needs to use one.

I honestly don't know if you can destroy the Oakley's, they're pretty well made. You could certainly still lose them though.
To each their own I guess. I've never found another pair of sunglasses that I could wear while playing golf, softball, volleyball, etc, and they stay on your face perfectly and don't impede your vision at all. I bought them years ago and haven't regretted it once.
Then again, I also don't have a wife or kids to care how I spend my money

I used to have like 3 or 4 pairs of Oakleys....and then the daughter was born and we needed a bigger house, clothes for the kid etc.... Now I wear whatever knockoffs I can find.
I don't know if I could destroy a pair of oakleys, but I know from exprerience that a Pomeranian can chew them to bits if you leave thme out by the pool.

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
How did I know that you would have a recipe for Oakley disaster in your files?Flipper wrote:I used to have like 3 or 4 pairs of Oakleys....and then the daughter was born and we needed a bigger house, clothes for the kid etc.... Now I wear whatever knockoffs I can find.

If it can be broke, Flipper will find out how, and then proceed to do so in the most spectacular fashion possible.1987alum wrote:How did I know that you would have a recipe for Oakley disaster in your files?Flipper wrote:I used to have like 3 or 4 pairs of Oakleys....and then the daughter was born and we needed a bigger house, clothes for the kid etc....
