Agreed.

I saw part of that Oklahoma-Tulsa game (well, the first half. I guessed, correctly, that it was going to get out of hand soon, as scrappy as Tulsa was for the first 30 minutes).

And, boy, I was envious. You guys were living the dream with that game, having the Sooners on your home turf?

We'd love to get Ohio State in our stadium. But it isn't going to happen.

Some Big Ten schools will do it. We have Minnesota coming next year. But Ohio State? Hasn't happened.

Anyway, it sounds like it was a heck of a lot of fun. What did you guys charge for tickets for that game?

I agree the Tulsa fans visiting our board have been very cool! How many of you Tulsa fans will be in Mobile? Would be great to meet you and throw back a few cold ones.

Stick around Gold*...we have a pretty fun group around here :)

If you're ever in the need of a future opponent, you guys would make for a quality home & home as well!
Well, thank you. We have good posters, too. We get a little rowdy on our board, particularly when we don't like a team, but for the most part our board is pretty great and better than most. I don't have any reason to dislike y'all, so I'm sure we'll get along fine. Being the little private school in Oklahoma, we get plenty of haters.

That said, we have our share of detractors. If you get bored, you should check out some of the stuff that went down between TU and Rice a couple of weeks back. The buildup to that game was pretty bad -- the Rice board banned most of our posters (they are on NCAAbbs). After they called our coach a d-bag, the whole thing went nuclear. Their band director apologized, but said a d-bag wasn't that bad of a word anyway (said it meant "jerk"). A couple of us sent him d-bags in the mail, just so he would know what they are for future reference.

And you should see what Oral Roberts has to say about us . . . well me . . . :-D

Sounds like we owe y'all a road game. I think Kansas just bought us out of our game up there next year, so you might get your wish sooner than you'd think.

We charged an arm and a leg. Actually, it was great marketing by TU -- they sold mini-packs for the game that included our games with UAB and Houston. I think they went for around $75-100, depending on the seat. That really boosted attendance for the year -- and people actually used the other tickets.

As much as people dislike them for being part of the evil empire, Stoops and OU's AD are pretty cool. They are willing to give us a home game to help us out. It hasn't always been that way. They also came five years ago. I think the series has been renewed. By comparison, our lesser, stupider, uglier OSU won't come to town unless we agree to pick up part of the lien on their mobile home, if you know what I mean.

Our home schedule isn't always that great. Kragthorpe did an excellent job the last couple of years with the schedule. I think we get Army next year and Texas Tech the year after that. Those are fun games.

As for the game, OU is designed to destroy spread offenses. We were pretty rinkey dink at that point in the year and they did what we wanted. Still, when we were leading, I did my best to annoy the Sooner nation.

I'm not sure. At first we were skeptical, but after the sting from last Saturday's loss has started to fade, I think a fair number will be there. Too early to guess, though.

Not sure where you were but most likely south of South Tulsa.
Tulsa is a fairly large town. Here is downtown.

Welcome to the Tulsa fans! BTW, what is the population of Tulsa? Looks to be the size of Akron, OH...maybe a bit bigger?
I live by the bulding on the far left that looks like a syringe/ corn cob.

I'll share my favorite joke about that building.

What's the #1 reason to live there?

You don't have to look at it.

Yeah that's what you can expect from Ohio guys that go to college in Iowa.

Eh, we hung with them for a good part of the game when we played 'em in 2004

I remember that game! I was really impressed with your QB, Jacobs. My roommate at the time got sick of me singing his praises.

Wasn't that the same OU team that was demolished by USC? I'm talking about OU nowadays, since they ran off Chuck Long. They have become a vanilla, old-school run over you and make you beg for mercy kind of team. They still have issues in the secondary, though.
