Just can't get over the hump...yet

Post by AZIce »

I listened to the whole game on the UM feed, since WBGU was dead for some reason. Once again, just like the two ND games, we hung tough, went toe-to-toe, had a chance to win, but in the end just couldn't put the game away. From the sound of the radio the go ahead goal for them was somewhat of a fluke, bad bounce, whatever.....

Their radio guys actually were very impressed with us. They stated numerous times how much better this BG team is than the last few years and said that we should finish in the top have of the league easy if we keep playing this well.

....anyway we just need to actually win one of these games.....gotta get over the hump.

Macman I hope you are right. What a great early xmas gift a split with "that team" would be. This team needs a marque victory. i know Pooch isn't high on "moral" victories so hopefully they will learn from this loss. Sounds like Falcons were up 2-1 in the third? Ugh, wish we could have held on. Also saw that 4300 people were at the game. A hell of a lot better than the 1300 that showed up for the Wayne State game...

I gotta say that for me personally, it's been quite awhile since I've seen the Ice Arena that packed. And man does it feel homey in there, I'm sure if we didn't have as many people in there as we did, it probably wouldn't have been as close as it was. Even though we lost, I still congratulate the Hockey team on a job well done. We hung with the #2 team, but just couldn't put them away unfortunately. I wish the team the best of luck up in Ann Arbor this evening.

Sounds like this team is extremely close to a break thru...these kind of close, tough losses will help them understand what it takes to win these games. Sounds like they are real close to that point.

Over 4,300 fans....GREAT SHOWING.

Maybe tonight is the game that does it.

We have not even PEAKED yet this season...Its gona get even better!
MI in and of it makes for a nice victory, but far from Marque. To me a Marque victory is one that this team gets in the JOE, a lofty goal sure, but that is why its Marque.

A win tonight and win overall at the Badger Classic!

Don't forget there were probably 1,000? Michigan fans there all around where BG fans use to be.

Actually from what I've heard (I wasn't there) the Michigan contingent was very small at Friday night's game. Can anybody vouch for that?

There is no way there were 1,000 fans. Not even 500. They were spread out throughout the arena in small clumps, but there weren't THAT many...and it was obvious who they were.
