AS far as goalies go we are enjoying have two of the best anywhere. I say alot of that has to do with the top notch coaching and conditioning they are getting from Masters. Rotating them is not a bad thing at all, dare I point that this team is doing very well with the rotation. The rotation also serves some other good points, it allows the newcomer Eno to get ice time in the CCHA it also allows both of them to to stay in better condition, it helps the team in that if one becomes injured and the other needs to pick up the slack there will be no lull in goal tending a terrible issue but it happens.
We are playing DAMN (included the silent N for our city of brotherly love falcon friend) Good hockey. MI played a perfect game to beat us, and that is what they had to do. yea moral victories are awful gut wrenching things, but the alternative was 8-1 MI. Our guys played their best, it was not good enough to win even once this weekend, but did you notice it did not give them cause to quite, or sulk, or implode as it has teams of the recent past. We are not going to beat everyone (this year) Were going to win the games we should outright win, and we will win some of the games against evenly matched opponents and a few against those above us.
I am still excited about this team, they are doing a great job, I find them as exciting as any of our great teams from the past, but better in that they are our PRESENT.

I think someone has already said something like this, but, this is not the time for moral victories...they don't go into the win column on paper. We need real victories. I don't think this series shows us that we're a contender...I think it shows us that there is still work that this team has to do to get over the hump as was said in another thread.

This team has great potential and they just need to bring it all together. I'll call them a contender when they get a win against J Crew U or the eggsuckers. Until then, it's more of those useless moral victories.

Eno looked lost the entire game and allowed 3. The defence looked a lot better behind Eno than they did behind Spratt. This is a great team we narrowly lost both games to the top team in the CCHA and possibly the number 1 team in all of 2A hockey.
The Miami Redhawks would definitely take exception with that statement.

and Alaska would take exception to that statement, there is no reason for one of the top teams in the conference, let alone the top ranked team in the country, to get shootout at home by Alaska, I wouldn't be shocked if Michigan was sitting at #1 when the polls come out

They may not be, I think they have a chance, but I do know there is no way Miami will be #1

Michigan lost in a rivalry game that happens from time to time. Miami lost to FAIRBANKS at home.

Alaska is ahead of Ohio State in the standings right now.

I haven't seen Alaska play yet, but I can tell you that Ohio State is dreadful this season.

Does anybody know which assistant coach was behind the bench Saturday night? I have noticed that, for some reason, our game picks up a lot when Reirden is behind the bench.

As far as goalies go, Spratt and Eno are pretty much playing the same right now. Until one of them steps up and shows that they are clearly the only choice to go with in must win games, we are going to continue with the rotation. Friday night, Spratt gave us a chance to win that game. He used everything he had to stop the puck. Including his facemask two or three times. The first goal is a Michigan play that has been there for years. I don't know that I've seen them play a game when that play isn't attempted (and it usually works). The team that played Friday night played a great game. But they didn't play a complete game. It seemed like they got up 2-1 and kind of settled in. We didn't keep attacking like we had been. We didn't give up, but we didn't try to extend the lead.

I really have no idea what everyone is talking about this team playing great on Friday night. Maybe my expectations are too high, but the boys looked lack-luster on Friday night. I don't know why everyone keeps saying Spratt did so well Friday either. The kid doesn't understand that he cannot rebound the puck right in front of himself and expect the other team not to score. Yeah he made a couple great saves, but after one of them he immediately gave up a goal b/c of poor rebounding. I personally don't see using your face mask as a good way to stop a goal either. If it hits your head (unless it was a deflection, which this one was not) it should have been gloved.

Eno, to me as a hockey lamen, looks 1,000 times better in the net. He did let one easy one by on Saturday night but aside from that he was practically standing on his head kicking pucks away.

Niz... I respect you and all... however Eno gives up more rebounds than Jimmy...The only thing that saved him on Saturday night was the fact that our D actually put a body on the boys from UM...He gave up some rebounds that should of been burried cause he kicked them right into the middle of the ice... they have someone in the slot and it is a blowout... We are spoiled with two good goalies... end of story. I feel confident with either one in net.

Lack-luster? :? I think you must have watched a different team than I saw through 2 and 3/4 or more periods... I honestly have never seen them skate so hard, especially in the 2nd period. I think we just wore out at the end, unfortunately. I was very thrilled with their effort, though am NEVER happy to lose to the weasels, regardles of how the game played out.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

You can say a lot of things about the games this weekend, but to say that the effort was lackluster is moronic. Obviously, a loss is a loss 3-2 or 10-2; but, the effort was there both nights.

Clearly you know little about playing between the pipes...Its about what ever it takes, and its impossible to smother every shot, and that you have to rely on the help of your D to clear the puck, Sprat is greatly improved this year, and Eno is real solid foundation coming in, and if he keeps growing he will likely find himself very very well placed among BGSU's top netminders.
But the upside is Our DAMN GOOD TEAM was well noticed for QUALITY play and slid one spot down in the polls. We will head in to the Beaver clasic to play an 11th ranked Northeastern Team and 13th WI should we beat Northeastern which I fully expect we will do.
