I think OSU got the most favorable matchup they could have. LSU doesn't have much speed on offense. Their defense is fast, but they've played pretty poorly most of this season. The defense did not play up to their talent level most of the season. The offense doesn't thrill me all that much.

That said, LSU was pretty banged up most of the year, and may be healthier for the bowl game. In the first 5 weeks or so it was obvious they were light years better than any other team...but they haven't played that way since.

Les Miles is not Urban Meyer. Not even close.

I think LSU might be a better team than OSU, but it's close. I definitely think this is the best matchup OSU could've drawn. WVU, Mizzou, OU, USC, all would've posed much bigger threats than LSU.

I haven't looked at the spread, but if OSU is getting a TD or more, I'm inclined to take them. I don't think they're any good this year, but I don't think anybody else is either. Despite the crappiness of the big 10, and OSU's record against the SEC, I can see them keeping this real close, even winning. Last year's embarrassment is probably worth an extra TD for OSU on emotion alone.

tell me about it..Washington has been on the schedule for about 8 or 9 years. They were a legit top 15 team when they were scheduled. Can not help they suck. Syracuse was supposed to be on the schedule this year. They had been on it for a few years. They were a decent team when they were first added. They cancelled, OSU had to scramble to add a team. No one in the BCS wants to come to Columbus as a "filler" for the empty schedule spot, they got stuck with Akron. (I like how you put down your own conference teams like Akron and Kent State and admit that the MAC sucks).

Miami is on the schedule in 2 years. They were #1 when added to the schedule, not OSU's fault they suck. Oklahoma will be on the schedule in 4 years..who knows, stoops may be gone and they may suck by then too.

Texas was mediocre when they were scheduled and they ended up being #1 the first year and #2 the second time OSU played em.

You never know what you are going to get when you make a schedule. Sometimes schools cancel on you. You all now that. Boise backed out on you, USF backed ut on you and you were stuck scheduling a Liberty or a WKU.

All I said was that it's not likely that any school sets up a 'cupcake' schedule (not my term) in a season where it looks like they'll be a good team. The schedules are set too far in advance. I chose Southern Utah (a non-MAC team, btw) as my example simply because they had zero wins this season.

As for who should be in the Bowl games and who will win, keep me out of it. I've got bigger fish to fry.

I said that it was unlikely that any school is doing that, due to the fact that the schedules are set up well in advance of a coach/athletic department knowing how their recruiting classes will shake out for that season.
