OL Blaine Schafer

Post by rocketfootball »

Plymouth, IN offensive lineman Blaine Schafer had official visits at Bowling Green and Toledo this past weekend, and liked them both a lot.

Blaine could join an outstanding 2008 OL group at BGSU. They all seemed to get along really well over the weekend.

This group that Coach Campbell has assembled will be very important in the years to come.

They have to be the largest and tallest group of all the MAC OL commits for 2008

BTW...We got a couple of new commits over the week end too :-D

Said he enjoyed his visit to BG, really thought he'd fit in here.

Then went to Toledo and played pool with Amstutz, and said that visit went just as well as the BG visit.

Was hoping to visit Ball State, but they haven't called back...comfortable with the current schools he's visited (BG, WMU, UT). Doesn't yet have a clear favorite.

The kicker form CLyde may have made it "official" on his verbal
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

I wonder what he would do at a Toledo on a Sunday night.

I also wonder if any wagers were made??

Glad we had him for the week end. The faulty, team and the coaching staff did a great job with the recruits (along with the parents) showing off all aspects of the University

My feeling is Blaine may be a Ball State lean. He may wait and see if Hoke gets the Michigan job. I hope I am wrong. He would be a great OL in college and would love to see him along side Stevens, German, Walker and Robinson as a Falcon for the years to come.

BTW...There was at least 3 commits over the weekend.

Sooooooo, I'm guessing Amstutz needs to use a bridge on every shot.

He liked Toledo as much as BG? I don't get up to North West Ohio very often (especially Toledo), but did Toledo move their campus or something??

According to Rivals, Mr. Phillips is now a "solid verbal", picking us over the likes of BC, EMU Cinci & Kent. Well done!!!!! =D>

i dont understand how someone can visit bg, and then go up to nasty ol toledo and think it even compares. bg might as well be close to an sec school when it comes to girls. and if he's straight, im sure the current players told him this benefits that come along with being a football player at bg and how much weight that pulls with the ladies ;)

I think, too, with all the great entertainment and cultural opportunities in BG and the beautiful campus, basketball facility and stadium that its hard to imagine anyone picking UT over BG. I guess all those people that do pick UT just don't get it.
