It's not so much that we lost, but how we lost

Post by BGSU33 »

That's the killer for me. Had we gone out there last night and traded TDs all night long and came out on the short end 49-41, that's one thing. But being up 27-7 in the third quarter while giving up 35 unanswered points to lose, that's a killer. We went from having a 27-7 lead to trailing 42-27. What the heck? A loss is a loss, but I would rather have gotten beat 50-0 than to watch a lead and game evaporate the way it did last night.

That's exactly what I said last night...it really hurts to lose a game with a huge halftime lead like that.

I'll second the view. The Falcons need to learn to come out and duplicate their first halves. The next time we get up on a WMU by 50 at half time, we should send the starters out until we are up by 75, then maybe pull them.

As good as Omar is, he is only a second year player out there. Against NIU, and last night, when things suddenly got tight, he started overthrowing open recievers, and plowing the ball into the turf. He seemed to settle down some last night, but by then it was too late.

I am hoping they don't get matched against a good team and fail like that again this year.
