It's the photo from the BG athletic website, not a Blade photo. Better get used to it.......you're going to see it a lot this year!

I think most will agree that Lauren can't take a bad picture.

Actually I thought that was a nice pic of Lauren (at least the pic in the paper looks nice, the one on the web needs some work).

WHO SAID IT?
...Justin, sitting in the stands that night, overheard a BG fan suggesting that if Lauren was 20 pounds heavier, she wouldn't be playing for the Falcons.

My guess: Falconboy

He he, yeah laugh it up it up but basketball is a different game than football. Basketball isn't supposed to be physical but football is. I could care less about players weights in B-ball as its all about quickness and athleticism. Football is a game of strength. Those other schools loss is our gain.

Basketball is a physical game....no doubt about thqt. And Lauren is a pretty woman...so is Chelsea Albert. I watched the IU game on the BTN and thought those two are not hard to look at.

Lauren impressed the heck out of the BTN annoucers.

Lauren also impressed the IU coach as well as the Notre Dame coach.....and pretty much everyone else who sees her play. Jim Foster ought to lose his job for letting her get away....especially from his own backyard. WAIT....I take that back. He should get a pay raise and remain at OSU. We'll continue to get top notch players from in state!!! :-D

I concur...Lauren and Chelsea ARE pretty. We've got a few others on the team who I think sport above average looks as well. (maybe it's just me, but I think Sarah Clapper is a knockout and I think Kate is a total cutie...when she's not displaying her intensity face. :D )

You're joking right? Did you see the class he brought in this year? They grabbed the top player in Ohio, Jantel Lavender who also happens to be the top center prospect in the nation, and the top player in Illinois. You can only take so many players and they got some great players and filled their needs.

no, I'm not joking. I could care less how great Foster's class allegedly is. This group that came to BG WILL have more success over the 4 years than the group Foster has and Prochaska will be the focal point of that. You can toss all the names with the best resume's (allegedly) out there but all that counts is what happens on the floor and I assure you that OSU will have more first round exits from the tourney in the next 4 years than BG and BG will appear in the Sweet 16 more times.

I commend the optomism, but wow do you have the O&B blinders on. It's obvious you haven't seen any of OSU's players if you're calling them allegedly good. I'm not sure how you can judge them without seeing them "on the floor", "where it counts" as you say. I happened to catch part of the OSU vs. Washington game on FSN Sunday night(in addition to other games and high school) and there's no allegedly about it as far as OSU's players, especially Lavender. She's going to be better than Jessica Davenport was at OSU there's no doubt in my mind and Davenport was Big Ten POY two or three years in a row(can't remember if she won as a soph.). I think Lauren is and will be a fine player, but have a little objectivety. Where were the offers from Tennessee, Duke, UConn, LSU, North Carolina because it's not like nobody knew about her since she played in the state final four and won a state title? All those guarantees are nice, but that really doesn't prove anything and certainly hasn't changed my mind. You might be right about the first round exits though since we know OSU's going to at least be in the tournament the next four years, it's not certain we will be because it only takes one slip up in the conference tournament to knock us out. We certainly can't be losing to the Indiana's of the world if we expect to be getting back to the NCAA's let alone the sweet 16.

maybe they thought she was a shoe-in to go to OSU so didn't want to waste their time, or she didn't fit their system

Everything you say remains to be seen....as well as everything I say but your words don't change my viewpoint. Not even close. I MIGHT have given you a benefit of doubt and listened to what you had to say until you made the ridiculous statement regarding Tennessee, Duke, UConn, etc. Those are the most elite schools in the nation and OSU is nowhere near their class. Not to mention, you use one game from their Freshman season to make a blanket statement regarding their 4 year potential. Try more realistic examples when trying to prove a point....otherwise, I might think I'm reading a Falconboy post (No dis-respect intended to you Falconboy).

BG is a work in progress this year but can easily battle OSU for best college women's program in the state. Foster is a good coach and OSU's name recruits itself. But I love how Coach Miller and his staff have built this program the way they have. This team may be young but can play with just about anyone in the nation...ask ND> At IU, our shots were rushed in the 2nd half and give credit to IU...it must have been hard losing 2 straight to BG outta the little ole MAC by a combined 53 points. They wanted to win that game BADLY and did what they had to do. BG's inexperience showed but this new freshman class is gonna be AWESOME. It's just beginning so make sure you're buckled up...

BTW, I was never that impressed with Davenport....she was just 4-5 inches taller than anyone else on the floor and that is a HUGE advantage in the women's game. Look at Bayles from Duke in the last few years. Sheet, if BG had a player 6'3" or taller that can move? We'd be practically unstoppable. Unfortunately for BG, those players usually end up at the BCS level schools.

TOGETHER WE ATTACK....BEAT MOUNT SAINT MARY!!

Absolutely, Freak. The same crap about OSU being the greatest at everything and damn all those who challenge their excellence has found its way to another board. :x

This program is on an absolute roll and is loaded for the future. If LSU and Louisiana Tech can coexist in the same state there's no reason why it can't happen here.

I like that statement, Joe. Well put. With BG's run of success, potential recruits KNOW this program is VERY WELL run. You have solid fan support and the record speaks for itself.

BTW, when is the last time BG lost 2 straight?? I was trying to figure that out the other day. 31-4, 28-3, 23-8 the last 3 years alone...
Looking at the media guide online, the last time BG lost two straight was Feb 18 and 21, 2004. Both home games....102-97 4 OT Loss to NIU and a 71-62 loss to Kent State.
Wow...almost 4 years between 2 game losing streaks. =D>
