GMAC Bowl ticket sales?
Any word on ticket sales?
Honestly, if we sold more than 1k-2k tickets for this game I'd be surprised. We averaged what 17k this year? Does anyone think more than 10% of the crowd that watches our home games is going to make the trek to Mobile on a Sunday night against a Conference USA foe?
I hope I'm wrong, but I'd really be surprised.

A closer location and a more managable day (like saturday) would make for much better sales. With when and where our bowl is this year, you can't blame the fans for not buying tickets. That is a lot of travel time and money to get down there.
With the game being on ESPN and being the only football to watch on a Sunday night, it does give us a little more exposure than the other 2 bowls games. Also, from what I've heard around here, it gives the best experience to our players as well.

I guess. We'll be there, of course. And by my estimates, it will probably cost us as much to go to the GMAC Bowl as it did to get to the Temple game this year.thewebboy wrote:A closer location and a more managable day (like saturday) would make for much better sales. And if you can't make the game, consider the actions of our own Class of 61, who donated his pair of tickets. This can be done through the Web site and those sales, I'm certain, are attributed to B-G-S-U!
