Just imagine the improvement from one win to four wins, and how much better they could be next year with everyone coming back. They could get good in a hurry.
I was impressed with their quaterback during the BG game. He ended up breaking his leg later in the season. I agree, Golden may actually get Temple to be competitive annually.

With only about 14 scholarships, it sounds like we are winding down on our recruiting far earlier than normal. With about 10 commits, we should be down to the last couple of players. Now the task becomes holding all these players through signing day. For most, this is not a problem as their word (and ours) is good. But there can always be an issue or two.

Most interesting to me is that our list/potential list seems filled with Ohio high school athletes. Each year is different, but that certainly is a change from last season.

I wonder how much of that Ohio flavor is due to the hiring of assitants with Mount Union and Ohio State in their recent histories?

I think we were just getting out-recruited in our own state last year by other schools. I'm sure the 4-8 record didn't really help our cause in the recruiting battle, and we may have lost some guys to other MAC schools that we might have gotten to commit most years. Now with an 8-4 mark, we've got more local kids pounding down the door to play for us. Granted we were still able to find three guys that made huge impact in their first year in BG, RB Willie Geter, LB Glen Stanley, and K Sinisa Vrvilo.

Either that, or there wasn't any talent in Ohio last year, which is doubtful.

Temple seems to be improving. If Bowling Green and Miami fall short next season, I think Temple is the next team to look at for an East champion.

The Sebo Center is a HUGE selling point to this year class of recruits and to those recruiting years to come

They wanted speed on the perimeter last year on both sides of the ball...no better place to find that than Florida.

I will also chime in that last year was considered very much a down year in Ohio for talent. Sure, there is always talent in the state, but it was not to the same level as it typically is.

Very true, hammb. Tom Lemming alluded to that on WKNR one day last year. He said the Class of 2008 in Ohio would be "stellar".
