BG down 8 at the half...

Watching on live video stream from Indiana State's website...$6.95 for the game. Game has very slow tempo and neither team can get into a good flow. Lucky to be down only 8 considering Knight basically absent so far. Moten and Otis playing very well no knowing their stats off the top of my head. Officials calling it way too close..imagine that!

ESPN GameCast has it at a 7-point game at half. Jakubowski leads BG with 8 on 3 of 4 from the field, and 2 3ptrs. Otis has 3 points and two fouls. Par for the course. Clements has 4 points, Miller has 3. BG shooting 45%.

I initially was going to head out to this game until a dead congresswoman got in my way.

You are right. They called the Sycamore's last shot only a 2 pointer. What a great way to watch any away game for the Falcons. Technology is beautiful!

This season may be nearly over for all intent and purposes. I've pretty much written off this year. This needed a ton of patience anyway but we're gonna need even more as this year is going nowhere that I can see. Losing Marschall for the year and now Hamblet with academic issues

there's no way we compete for the Mac this year. I had higher hopes for this season to start with but should've expected this untill Orr can get his recruits here. I know we all hate to say next year but thats whats its gonna have to be. We're just don't not seem to have a talented team as a whole to compete with the top of midmajors. This team needs to be built around Knight and his type and style of athleticism.

I said the season is nearly over for all intent and purposes. If we can't beat ISU and Illinois St. how do we compete in the Mac? Just my thought. Sure mathmatically and technically the season is far from over but its not looking good at all.

The effort was there. When they were down 11, they cut it to two Miller seemed to have an attitude in the first half. He was complaining to the officials on his turnovers and he seemed to be upset the first time he was substituted. I think Orr had a talk with him at the half. In the second half he played better.

Polk had a decent game underneath, but his inability to hit foul shots hurt BG down the stretch. A plus is he didn't foul out.

TG, besides my wife and I, there were maybe 10 other BG fans there. Too bad Julia caused you to miss the game. ISU has a nice facility. Considering Terre Haute is pretty much a dump, I was impressed with the Hulman Center.

I had planned on making the trip out and get back a little late for work, but with the funeral and such, they wanted me in by 1:30ish... I went to the ISU game a few years back and they do have a pretty nice arena, from what I remember, though I think I remember a few more BG fans there that day. (Might have been McLeod's senior year, which explains that.)

As for the game, following on Gamecast, it seemed awfully similar to last Sunday vs. Ill. State... they got down a bit, but fought back to get back in the game, only to lose a little gas. OP missed a pair of free throws at one point when they cut it to 2 or 3, I believe, too.

As for the season, this team is still coming together, and all it takes is a few wins in March.

Yeah, he missed 4 straight free throws when the game was within a couple points. I agree this team is still coming together. I am excited about the recruits Coach Orr has coming in next year. Jakubowski impressed me as well. He had a strong 1st half. He looked tired in the second half, but he looks like he will be a leader for this team. His court presence is impressive for a true freshman. I plan on going to the game at Muncie and Oxford.

As it looks now, I'll be at the game in Muncie (which might be a good one to be at as a Falcon fan, the way the Cardinals have started off). I'll try to pass info along as I get it, but the alumni group here usually meets up at the Damons in Muncie beforehand then heads to the game.

It's called believing in a new system and believing in young players maturing. I don't think we're going to make the Final 4, but to say the season is over before MAC play has even started is ridiculous.

When you lose players, there's got to be some adjustment period too. If we're used to running the game with Ryne in there, well, we need to adapt and adjust to him not being there. Give it time... I still believe we'll be a better team at the end of February than we are at the end of December. To me, that's what this season is all about.

We lost by 5 to a decent Indiana State team. As much as anything, that loss could be attributed to getting homered by the refs. Illinois State is near the top of the MVC. While I don't accept losing at home, we did lose to a good team. This is disappointing but, as usual, nowhere near as dark as Falconboy (a.k.a. ChickenLittle) puts it.

Going into the season, we expected Hamblet and Marcshall to be available all year. Their absence, in my view, dramatically lowers our expectations from being competitive in the East to being middle of the pack in the conference. Furthermore, we expected much more progress from Polk. That may have been unfair, but an Otis Polk playing 30 mpg and not constantly in foul trouble alters our profile considerably.

We have dual hurdles of a new system and elimination of key players. Now, we badly need guys like Sims, Moten, and Clements to step up to lead and score. Clements is the only one of the three that shows any readiness. Furthermore, we need Chris Knight to show up for every game, hungry. For our season, a lot rides on the willingness of individuals to grow up quickly. We'll see if that happens. However, it is ridiculously early to write the season off.
