I wonder what the viewing stats for the Motor City Bowl look like year in, year out, but this package increasingly looks like a good deal for everybody on just about every other front.
Accessibility makes such a difference. (Comparatively) low costs for athletic departments, ditto MAC and Big10 fans who all have a realistic chance of making the venue. There are not too many carnival beads to be had, sure, but this Bowl has a big ribbon of common sense wrapped around it, and an annual crowd of 50K plus (60K this year) can't make for bad news on TV screens either. I like it.
Option 1:
Pa: I love you, cookie.
Ma: Oh, darling, I hate seeing you lose sleep. I wish I could send you to the [insert distant Bowl Game] for Christmas and make all your problems go away.
Pa: I know. Its the cost. And the time away from home. Working this one out is such a headache. And I feel bad that you have to stay home with the kids.
Ma: Oh, darling, you're so... thoughtful.
Option 2:
Ma: Are you going to the Motor City Bowl?
Pa: Yeah. Let's all go! It's not far, theres's always a good attendance.
Ma: Well, why don't you take Billy? He'll love the crowd. Maybe Cindy would rather do a girls together day at the shops, but I'll ask her.
Pa: Too cool. Everyone's happy. I love you.
Ma: Show me. Right now. Now we've made our plans, there's plenty of time.

Those short kicks do stink. On CMU's last kick off, I wish they would have kicked it long. Other than that, I'm glad I watched the game. I'm not a CMU fan, but I'll root for the MAC when they're playing OOC schools. I think CMU came out in the 2nd half ready to play.

If by "intensity" you mean Dorien Bryant dropping two wide open passes that get deflected and intercepted. One of those was going to be a sure TD for Purdue, but he took his eyes off of it right as it hit him in the hands & ends up being a big INT return.
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

My bad...I guess if I would have looked at your location I would have figured it outdstubb wrote:[quote="BGSUFootballFan"
Sorry, the regulars on here know that I am a Purdue Student. BG is my favorite team, but I still have to cheer for my Boilers.
Haha it's cool. I understand that I'm not a "normal" or "typical" fan so I can see why you jumped to your conclusion. But it's all good now!

Haha. You have no idea how refreshing it is to see someone say "my bad" not only on this site but in today's society in general. People fight over the petty stuff and I just don't get it. But because it happens so often now I really gain a lot of respect for people who handle the situation how dstubb did. We are all football fans here, lets share our knowledge and have fun while we can!zeket10 wrote:Aww good to see brotherly love.

That's exactly what I meant. Purdue wasn't focused in the third quarter. Purdue is clearly the better team, they dominated CMU for six straight quarters going back to the first game and I think they relaxed and got overconfident and it nearly cost them the game.BGSUFootballFan wrote:bgsukid wrote:It helps when the team leading comes out in the second half thinking the game is already won and shows no intensity.Rollo83 wrote:How can you look so lost in the first half and then turn it around in the second half?
