Let's talk BG hockey vs Miami...
OK, now that I am getting over the football game from last night, lets start to focus on our SWEEEET hockey team. Big games coming up against the Redskinhawks who are not playing too well. We need to at least split (a sweep is certainly possible) with Michigan and State to follow. I really like what I am seeing this year. Sigalet in goal will just get better as the season moves on. What's on everyone's minds here???
Falcon Hockey...Re-building the tradition!
If they learned from the mistakes made last Saturday against Wayne State, they have a reasonable chance of getting 4 points against Miami.
It's almost as if they play a more disciplined, structured style when on either a power play or a penalty kill. They seem to concentrate more on what they're supposed to do. Five on five, it's wheel and deal.
Jonathan Sigalet needs a partner like Bieksa was with him last season. They really controlled the play when they were on the ice. So far this year, defense has been an individual thing, no decent coordination.

All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.
miami is not playing well right now as far as i know. We need to put last game behind us and move on. Our D in ever sport here at bg is bad and that goes for hockey too. Lets step up the d and win some games!!!

Everyone is right. We aren't playing too well at all right now. On saturday night, we broke a seven game losing streak. Yeah, 7.
Hopefully we are getting it back together. But our offense isn't too strong, regardless of our early season victories. A lot of players have some nagging injuries that aren't reported too. Our goalie is incredible, but like you last year, he can only do so much. I think we will end up in the middle of the pack this year. Not enough seniors this year. Next year will be better.
All I know is I would much rather be in our cluster than yours. You complete the toughest cluster by far. If your team can come out of the cluster .500, you will be in great shape and battle tested for the CCHA tourney. I expect BG to finish in 5th. Miami to finish in 7th.
Have a good season!

i'm hoping to make saturday night's game. our team is banged up and we've had discipline problems both on and off the ice (hmm, sound familiar bg fans?). hopefully, they'll get rolling, but until guys heal and get back on the ice, i'm not overly optimistic. i'm thinking split this weekend.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
