Miami at Bowling Green - 1/4 and 1/5

Post by redhawk95 »

i will be in the house for certain on friday night (i will be wearing a white miami jersey with the name "ADAMS" stiched on the back) and i'm not sure yet about saturday. we were sluggish after the two week layoff but still played well enough to beat st. cloud state and the ohio a&m aggies to take the Ohio Hockey Classic title. a&m looks much improved since we swept them earlier in the season so the two remaining games we have against them will not be gimmes.

should we expect to see both goaltenders as appears to be the way it's gone this year? aside from whitmore, who should we keep tabs on?

as for us, it's the same old guys...jones, mercier, the freshmen, brian kaufman and to wager a guess, you'll see effinger on friday and zatkoff on saturday in goal. no idea if nathan davis will be back for us. it sure would be nice to have a 50 point player in our lineup, but injuries have held him to just four points this year in only 8 games.

looking forward to the weekend. something tells me bg will steal a game. you guys always play us tough.

Keep any eye out for freshmen Jacob Cepis, David Solway and Dan Sexton. All three have contributed a lot this year! Also, junior Brandon Svendsen who came back from what looked to be a season ending knee injury to play both games in Wisconsin and score in the final game!! The kid is absolutely amazing... (This is also the kid who went head first into the boards a few years ago, went to the hospital and then played the next night!!!) I expect Spratt in net Friday and Eno in net on Saturday.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I will more than likely miss my first hockey game in two years on Friday night due to something painfully irritating, but I'll be there cheering on my Falcons on Saturday!

You're going to miss a game? You're not a real fan! :P
Back in my day, we didn't miss game for any reason. There was one time where I literally died and made the game the next day :-D

Painfully irritating? That conjures up all kinds of thoughts...I'm guessing a "required" family thing? :-D

These two games will be the first home games I've missed in 4 years. I will be watching hockey however. The Manitoba Moose play the Rochester Americans On the 4th and 5th. Current goalie is former BC goalie Schneider. The only team ahead of us are the Marlies. What a great season.

If we can beat Abercrombie University one of the two games it would be a great for our program. I don't see it happening though.
Dave Ellett is a hero. A Bowling Green Falcon and a Former Jet and Maple Leaf. What more can a Winnipegger ask for.
