Ticket Sales
If this game is nearly a sell out, how did BG do in their ticket sales? Is there the potential for the program to actually make money?

Re: Ticket Sales
I was wondering about this myself. I hope we represent well. It would be rather empbarrassing to see Tulsa's side packed and BG's side barely sprinkled with orange bodies here and there.daspollak wrote:If this game is nearly a sell out, how did BG do in their ticket sales? You mean like at the GMAC Bowl in '04? You know when it wasn't embarrasing? When our guys were holding up the trophy at the end of the game.Falconboy wrote:I was wondering about this myself. I don't think that you can possibly make money off ticket sales no matter what...you just avoid the loss. You have to buy all the tickets at face value, I think. So unless you're selling them at over face value to your fans you're never going to make a profit.
The payouts on these bowl games are just not large enough to hope for any sort of profit. If there is profit most of it goes to the MAC office to be divvied up among all the conference schools. We get to cover our expenses first, then the rest gets divided up among all MAC schools. We may get a higher percentage since we were in the game, but the payouts to these bowls are so small it really doesn't matter. It'll probably be close whether it even covers their expenses.

Well then maybe our team goal should be to win as many games WITHOUT making a bowl game.
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!
