.....and after seeing Georgia and USC perform in their bowl games, and say LSU struggled and barely beat OSU, who would you vote as for as National Champion

LSU - I still think they're the best team in the country, so a win over a team with the best statistical D in the nation wouldn't do much to change that opinion.

I can't vote for Georgia because they did not even win their division in the SEC.

I can't vote for USC because they lost to Stanford and to me that eliminates you from national championship contention.

That leaves OU and LSU and between those two, I think LSU is better, so I would vote for LSU.

And LSU lost to a Kentucky team that struggled to beat a Fla St team with half a roster and to Arkansas who got destroyed by Missouri, who you could argue should be in this poll as well. So what's your point?

My point is that USC lost to a team that was awful and didn't even go to a bowl game. It was one of the biggest upsets in college football history. IMO, if you lose to Stanford and then lose another game, you do not in any way, shape or form deserve a national title under the current system. Was that not clear enough?

LSU lost to Kentucky, who at the time was playing very well, and they lost to Darren McFadden in a great game. Based on those losses compared to the other 2-loss teams, LSU was the most deserving team to face OSU.

And if you were referring to Georgia. Again, IMO, under the current system, you should have to win your conference, not to mention your division, to win a national championship.

And if OU loses or struggles to beat WVU tonight, would you vote Mizzou ahead of them? If so, it is a good thing you don't have a vote in any poll.

exactly, You dont lose to a 44 point underdog, who is playing with a back up QB. I dont care what kind of injuries you have. High school teams could beat Stanford.

So all of the sudden Kentucky isn't any good? They are a hell of a lot better than Stanford that is for sure.

And Ohio State lost at home to Illinois who was just destroyed by USC. Again, what's the point of comparing teams by who they lost to?

Then tell me how you would compare teams and what you would use to rank teams if you were voting in a poll?

My point is that this has been an incredibly wacked out season in college football. EVERY team has a bad loss by which some could argue means that team is undeserving of a title.

I wouldn't use a poll to determine a champion. I'd have a playoff.

This will cue the "let's wait until the season is over to have the playoff discussion" so I won't start that debate, but I would be interested in how you would select the teams for a playoff if you don't like polls.
