That is the only playoff system I would like to see, if there is going to be one, take all the conference champions, but we all know that will never happen. You know that the BCS Conferences will not allow only the champions in without some at-large selections, plus they will also give in to Notre Dame with a provision that if they win 6 games they deserve a spot.
I am not in favor of a playoff system. I prefer some type of "plus-1" format, where they play all the bowl games and then take the two best teams and they play for the title. I think that allows teams to prove on the field against a quality opponant at the end of the year that they deserve a shot.
With all the arguments about a playoff system, I don't think it is going to happen for a very long time. First of all, just about every college president is against it and there are a lot of economic factors involved, not only for the schools, but think about the impact on cities like New Orleans, Miami, LA, Phoenix and then Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville and some of those if you take away their bowl game or lessen its importance. Everyone can yell and scream for a playoff, but I wouldn't hold your breath for it to happen in the near or distant future.

The BCS formula is fine or a selection committee made up of one member from each conference.98_BG_GRAD wrote:Then tell me how you would compare teams and what you would use to rank teams if you were voting in a poll?Warthog wrote:And Ohio State lost at home to Illinois who was just destroyed by USC. Again, what's the point of comparing teams by who they lost to?
LSU underachieved this year and never looked 'great' to me. It is really too bad a good non-BCS team wasn't in the mix this year (a la Utah 2004)
