Former NIU Coach Joe Novak

Post by transfer2BGSU »

Just received the following from former NIU Head Coach Joe Novak, thought I would share it with the board:

David,

Thanks for the nice e-mail concerning my retirement.

We had some great games with the Falcons over the years. I have great respect for the university and the people who represent it.

All the best,

Joe Novak

Dude, that was very cool. Novak is a class act and he really did a great job building the NIU program. Thanks for sharing.

Joe Novak is definitely a class act and has always been very kind to me any time I interviewed him. The MAC lost a good coach and a great man the day he retired.

... and when is the last time a coach voluntarily retired from a MAC school? Class guy who obviously loved NIU.

Class, loyalty, honesty, humility...Novak is among the last of a dying breed of football coaches.

The younger coaches would be wise to follow his example.
