In my world, the idea of the offense is to drive the ball down the field and score. It doens't matter to me if you spread the field or line up in a power I and pound the D. Whatever works to get you in the end zone.
I seem to remember Ole Sweater Vest even spreading things out a bit, no?
Again, WHATEVER GETS THE BALL DOWN THE FIELD AND IN THE END ZONE is fine with me. Call it what you want (BTW< a great Tesla song~)....
GO BG~
They ran a spread passing offense, not a spread option, they have never used a statue of liberty play. I never said anything about the spread.
I mentioned the high school offense in a post that West Virginia uses, maybe you are confused about that? The spread option is a high school offense that you use when you have a shitty QB who can't throw.
The basic spread, the one OSU used with Troy, is a college offense that is even run and pass.
comparing fake field goals to statue of liberty plays?? gimme a break. fake field goals and punts are highly predictable. Statue of liberty is a gimmick that you only use when your outmatched. It is the only way to survive.
Non BCS schools do not derserve title shots..period
Not Boise, Not Utah, not Hawaii, none of them. They can't handle it.
The Spread option run by BGSU is run and pass and we've been doing it pretty well over the years. Maybe you remember a guy named Josh Harris who was sooooooooooo effective with it. He torched OSU for 356 yards passing in 2003.
Judging by OSU's horrible performance last year, I'd say they can't handle it and do not deserve a title shot. OSU's sked this year was PATHETIC...for a so called national powerhouse. Grow a pair and play some good teams if you're so damn good. Play a few more road games while you're at it...
Non bcs teams deserve title shots...it works that way in every other sport. I can't help it if the bcs has a monopoly on college football and it's questionable legality. The bcs conferences will do anything and everything to keep all the bowl money and resources...they are afraid the non bcs conferences and with good reason. See Utah and Boise State. The 85 scholarship limit is closing the gap every year. It will take some time but the bcs conferences better enjoy it while it lasts. I'd like to see a lawsuit filed against the bcs. It's so corrupt and one sided even the NCAA doesn't recognize the bcs champ as the "NCAA Champion".
Do you finally understand? Thank goodness I'll be in Mobile the next few days and won't have to read your nonsense.

I love how everyone makes judgement on one game and conveniently forgets about all ofthe other high school offense teams that OSU faces...and beats. Washington, Purdue, Northwestern, Texas, Minnesota, shall I go on?
As far as scheduling..shall I go over this again?
Regarding this years schedule..Washington game was added 10 years ago..when Washington was a top 15 program. Not OSU's fault that Washington is where they are.
YSU was added late because Syracuse backed out of a home and home. Syracuse was a winning team when they were added many years ago. Again, Not OSU's fault they backed out and left OSU hanging. With the mandatory 12-game schedule OSU had to find someone. They were not able to get another BCS school to agree on a home and home with short notice so they went the YSU. 2 bad games, not OSU's fault.
It is also not OSU's fault that they have to play the teams that they play in the Big Ten. How can that be faulted to them?
Recent past and future oponents from out of conference, top 25. Texas Tech, Texas, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Miami (fla), USC. All of those except for texas tech was/will be a home and home series.
