Something I've pondered during the halftime break. Would you take this beatdown, if we regroup and can win the MAC title next season?

Obviously didn't prepare for this one but he will NOT be fired.

Has it really been poor preparation? I know that everyone on here will blame the coaching staff, but the first half falls squarely on the players IMO. Antonio Smith doesn't catch a punt, hits a guy out of bounds, and inexplicably watches a pass goes right over his head for a TD. Nobody held onto the ball and Tyler missed guys running right down the field wide open on several occassions. The D had two opportunities to make interceptions and dropped both. The fourth and 1 run call made me shake my head, but I don't think the coaching has been that awful.

I agree with this assessment. Stupid mistakes, yes the come from preparation, but that first fumble was questionable and the other errors unacceptable.

Wait a sec..Brandon brought these kids to BG. Therefore, he is responsible for their play! I lay the blame for this loss directly on him!

In a heartbeat. (Though that decision is probably easier because we're in the middle of it. Had you asked me 3 hours ago if I'd be cool with being down 42-0 regardless of the payoff, I'd probably have to think about it.)

Bowl games are bonuses. They're great to win, and though the exposure that we thought we'd benefit from is biting us in the ass, winning MAC titles have a longer-lasting benefit, I think.

I think the icers beating the #1 team in the country on Friday, and the b-ball team pulling a win out of their butt against OU stole away any good Karma for our gridiron gang.
LET'S JUST WIN THE SECOND HALF!!!!!!!!!!

HAHA, that's great logic. By that logic, Jim Tressel should be fired for bringing Troy Smith, Ted Ginn, Anthony Gonzalez etc. to Ohio State but not winning their bowl game last year. Forget that said players have had, and will continue to have great careers.

You're a dumbass. So if a player makes a touchdown can GB say I recruited that, I did that. No, you moron he can't. Turnovers are a player's fault. Yes he recruited them, but he cannot be out on the field playing for them.

The defense is pathetic. After the turnovers, the offense is the same. I suppose Brandon is not to blame for any of that either. Both he and his team has shamed the university. He needs to go. How many winning teams has he beaten this year?

If he has a losing season next year, I would agree. To fire a coach on one game when the players are to blame is ridiculous. Besides it would cost the university more since they just signed him to an extension.

Do you know something we all don't? Next year is the last year of GB's contract.

I think (I hope at least) Brandon just coached himself out of an extension. Right or wrong, wouldn't Christopher look foolish giving an extension to a coach whose team was an abomination in a bowl game?

I wish it was just one game. The guy is a fake and it surprises me that so many people on here think he is God. We would have been much better off NOT being in a bowl game. We all knew or should have known that this team sucks!

Why not...OSU regrouped and went back to a National Title game...and may win it..on a "rebuilding year as some call it..I call it a reloading year. It wasnt as bad as this game....but it was close..

Too much Mardi gras partying and not enough prep. It happens.

My thoughts exactly bobio! I'd rather have seen Miami O get stomped than us. I'm done talking up these guys! I guess I'm stuck in the Harris, Jacobs days! Sheehan will be awesome, but he just doesn't have the personnel surrounding him! Our U has just been embarrassed in the worse way! We didn't even look like a Div I team. Such a GREAT U, but we've got the worse luck lately. God help us!
