Floyd should be starting..

Floyd should be starting at PG for the rest of the season IMO. This kid is tough, hard-nosed, can control the offense, make smart passes, and shoot the rock when necessary, and penetrate the lane and dish. A Dakich type player all the way. No question he should be the one starting over Robinson.

I'll have to agree. While Robinson did look great out there too, Floyd is the kind of guy we need who knows when to push it or slow it down and also run the offense. He almost looked Pardon like out there the other night! The only prob I had with him was that he didn't take a few open shots that he could easily make. But I won't complain about the outcome of passing the ball off for someone else to score.

Oh I know he started... I was just saying that he should be starting the rest of the season based on how he did Wednesday. I just remember somebody in another thread saying Robinson should be starting.

I can't believe you would award any position for the rest of the season based on one game. Let's give them each a chance and see who wins out.

Dakich has said everyone will need to re-earn their spot every game. There is no set starting lineup. It's based upon performance in practice.

Floyd was good against UIC. It will be interesting to see how he fares against Bradley.

I say start him because he has been here a year. He might not have played last year but he did practice with the team and knows how things go. Robinson being a freshmen will get his chances but I don't think he's ready to lead the team yet. I'm not just basing this off a game, I'm basing this off experience. But like Grant mentioned that coach said, everyone has to earn their spots.

He started against Bradley, too.
Looks like he's in the line-up for a while at least.
I'm not sold on him yet however.. give it time.

I only have seen the game at DePaul and Floyd looked lost on the offense and very, very slow trying to stay with his man on defense. I am eager to see this improvement that has been noted on here.

After one game you guys say start him all the way, after one game I said keep him on the bench. . . Here's to hoping we can work out a good system with both Floyd and Moon because I believe they can both offer different things to this team while they are out there.

My only response to that would be that that was his first real game in over a year. After transfering from Oakland, he had to sit out for a year redshirted so he might have just had some gitters he needed to get out. I guess time will only tell though...

Floyd did not exactly have a bad game at DePaul. If you look at the stats he had 3 assists, 1 turnover, and 1 steal in 11 minutes of playing. He also only took 2 shots. McMetz811 is right, it was his first real competitive game in over a year. Floyd was probably a little jittery when he got out there and played a little passive trying not to upset Dakich. Floyd lacks athletic ability according to all of you doubters but he knows how to use what he has to stay with a quicker offensive player. It isn't always about athletic ability, it is about who has more heart and from what I saw in the last two games at AA, Floyd has a lot of it. He is a Dakich type of player. A player who will go out there and play his butt off for you.
I saw him play in high school at Toledo St. John's and the league he was in was full of quicker opponents guarding him and him guarding them. He still managed to average about 18 to 20 points a game and guard a quicker opponent. Floyd can get the job done for the next three years believe me on this one

Seemed to have lost a step tonight. Turnovers, forcing dribble drive shots and slow on d. . . Lost his man a couple times and he bombed triples.

Again, this is only the second game I have seen him play tonight so maybe he gets jittery when I am in the stands but man, I thought Mike Swanson was back on the squad.

Floyd did not have a bad overall game tonight. He did not shoot well I know, but Dayons_Den he had only 3 turnovers. Oh yea, I forgot he had 10 assists too. According to the stats on the BG webstie the team had 24 assists, so Floyd had about 40% of those. He only scored 2 points, but he was a contributor for around 22 points tonight.
How can you say he did not have a good game? The shots he missed tonight are ones he usually finishes. One of his "forced drives" helped stop a late Detroit run that helped them win the game. He was really "bombing triples" tonight, when he only shot two. Floyd is continuing to do a great job and will for the rest of the season IMO.
