I usually make a half-hearted attempt to be creative in the ways that I berate you, but creativity would simply be overkill in this situation:Falconboy wrote:You guys are amusing, really. There's no pot calling anything black. I've never ever said we should fire a coach after one loss to a Mac school I thought we should won against, although many here have likely have done so in years past about a certain coach from Indiana. There should be no Fire Coach threads when your team is well over .500 for the pre-conference season and you beat Maryland in Basketball usually one of the premiere teams in the ACC.

Imagine the wailing if they've had the kind of season we''ve had here at BG, good golly. They should be thankful that they have a squad capable of winning the Mac and getting to the NCAA's![]()

You call me the MOST defeatist poster here? Now you've got to be kidding. Do you read any other posts besides mine? To call me the most defeatist poster here is comical. There are a lot of other people who post irrational defeatist thoughts on this board and if I respond to them I may give a counter point post or don't respond. I don't attack them for the their opinions no matter how irrational they may seem to me. Lighten up bro.BleedOrange wrote:Falconboy wrote:Its unbelievable how some on their board have "mailed" it in after one loss at the beginning of the Mac sched. Falconboy, out of compassion, I'll spell it out for you. You're the one here to instantly respond to everything with thoughtless, exagerrated, defeatist comments. You're far worse than any of those OU posters. Do you even pay attention to yourself when you're typing your bullshit? Seriously.

I tend to agree with this OU fan. I remember sitting in the Gund watching a very young OU team roll to a MAC championship, and I was saying to myself how good this team was going to be for the future.Eagle66 wrote:OU fans are just tired of having their hopes up every year and losing to a team they should beat. Don't get me wrong BG deserved to win Saturday, but Tim O'Shea did not have his team ready to play. Just like he didnt have them ready last year when they lost at Ball St. (RPI 275) and at home to NIU (RPI 302). Or the year before that when a 200 ranked Western team came in and won. Or in 04 when they lost to an NIU team ranked in the 200s as well. O'Shea has a track record of not getting his team prepared for the games they think they should win just by showing up... He can't seem to conistently get the Bobcats to play at their talent level.
Besides doesnt irrational describe about 90% of fans anyway?
I actually think that "young" OU team that won the MAC in 2005 was recruited by Larry Hunter. Williams, Troutman and that group were signed before O'Shea got to OU, right? If so, not sure how good a recruiter O'Shea really is.hammb wrote:I tend to agree with this OU fan. As those players matured, however, the team hasn't gotten as good as one could reasonably expect. Saturday's game was a perfect example. BG just plain wanted it more and outworked OU. They got all of the hustle plays. For whatever reason OU, seems to get outworked and outhustled quite a bit.
The big question will be if O'Shea is actually a great recruiter or if he just got lucky with a few guys. Walther & Williams are seniors and Tillman's a junior. I'll be interested to see if he can still maintain a top talent level when they're gone.
You know, I think you're right. If that's the case than I really don't know what to think of O'Shea. He may have just inherited a good thing...curious to see where that goes forward...Rollo83 wrote:I actually think that "young" OU team that won the MAC in 2005 was recruited by Larry Hunter.
