Well, if you think we ran up the score in those victories with our backup QB and 2nd and 3rd stringers basically running the ball on every play....well....

Call it what you will, but you can't put blame on Tulsa's coaching. Our team played terrible. We couldn't hold on to the ball. We couldn't pick up a blitz. We couldn't cover their receivers. It frustrated the heck out of me watching the game. It was like the players weren't playing with heart. The announcer before the game said that bowling green had been practicing a ton of gadget plays. They should have focused on fundamentals...blockin, tackling, and holding on to the ball. Tulsa was a good team that showed up to play. We are a good team that didn't show up. We have a ton of talent and ability on the team. Hopefully this loss wakes up the coaching staff and players for the 2008 season.

I probably shouldn't bother discussing this but I hate to see ill-will after you guys have been so cordial during the run up.

Paul Smith 299 yards would have been a good game capping a great season and more than necessary to win. But 300 gets him and his team into the all-time record books in several categories.

I'm sorry, but if you believe your team would have done otherwise with the chance to get in the record books you are fooling yourself. If you are just venting because your team had a really bad game, so be it. But your angst runs the risk of unfairly categorizing your fan base.

Hey Jesse, not all the fans. Our team didn't show up to play...Period. If the tables were turned, Brandon would have done the same. Seems like both teams have good programs and fans, hopefully they'll play again.

I understand. The vast majority of BG fans on these boards and elsewhere have been among the most cordial fans I have ever seen. I understand it is a minority but I have a firm instinct to defend my team.

Knowing that, like I said above, I should probably let it go... stupid internet.

Still a nice season for BG. A conference championship and a chance to go bowling gives you the privilege of complaining about the outcome of said bowl. Oh but a few short years ago how I would have killed for that chance (Tulsa had some dark, dark years). Best of luck.

D'oh! I thought you had the East divisional title, guess I didn't have the tie breaks figured correctly (or at all, honestly).

Nonetheless, as I echoed in another thread I'll let you boys be. I didn't mean to antagonize.

I'm with RWT on this one...there's a HUGE difference between scoring 70 when you sit the first string in the third qtr and spend most of the second half running your 3rd string TB between the tackles and scoring 63 by playing a hurry up tempo with your first string and throwing the damn ball in the 4th qtr....not to mention running blitzes on defense with your first string defense.

Great...your QB got his little record. I hope you enjoyed watching your coach throw sportsmanship and respect for the opposition out the window so you could add a few lines to the fricking media guide.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Quit whining. You are right. We threw the football in the last quarter and we scored again. The bottom line is that if you do not want to be scored on, GET BETTER. Why should we care if your feelings are hurt. Seems like you need to get better players who are tougher. We made a statement that we are a better team on national TV. Sorry if you feel as if there was no respect but to be honest, we cannot concern ourselves with the feelings of another program while we are trying to build ours. At least you stayed within 42 the last time we played a few years ago. Maybe we can play again and you can get within 30.

Maybe you didn't realize you are on a BG forum. When did BG play TU a few years ago? The last I remember TU backed out of their contract to play at BG in 1990. Go enjoy having Todd Graham as your coach because he will leave Tulsa as soon as he can.
