Read in the paper today Alex Boone wanted to return for his Sr season to get another title shot. While I find that very cool instead of opting for the NFL, I'm afraid Boone's shots at the title are over. Not because OSU can't make it back...but because nobody outside CBus will want to see them there.

I am looking forward to seeing OSU/USC. That should be a slugfest.

I do give the guy props. He would have been a first day selection for sure in the draft. It's going to be an uphill battle for them though after crapping the bed the past 2 seasons in the BCS game.

USC is going to be some kind of tough next year.

Ohio St. has A LOT of talent returning. The USC OSU game will be the best big game of the year. I think Ohio St. match-ups up well with a pro style offense. Speaking of pro-style think of how many pro's will be on the field during that game, wow! Maybe 10-15 first rounders.

I disagree. I feel that OSU matches up well.

Whoever wins that game will probably be the favorite (for a while, at least) to win the BCS.

or Oklahoma State

With these guys coming back to Ohio State, 08 is going to be a very interesting college football season, as many of the top teams are bringing back top talent, sadly for OSU fans, I feel their performances in the past two title games will hurt there preseason ranking (which may not matter if 08 is like 07)

Personally I would put Georgia as #1 heading into the season if I had a vote

I think the most interesting thing this season will be to see how the polls will respond to OSU. The BCS is already looking a little blemished, and I don't think the powers that be want to take the risk (real or imagined) that OSU gets back in and drops the ball again.

That being said, they're still crazy loaded for this season. That USC game should be good. USC's going to have something major to prove this season after beginning the season as "THE GREATEST TEAM OF ALL TIME!" and then losing to Stanford.

I think you're giving waaaaaaaaay to much credit to the pollsters and the BCS.

Yeah, I suppose that's possible. I just know if I had voted a team in two years in a row and they had dropped the ball that way, I'd be a bit hesitant.
Then again, I'm not really wooed by the big names the way a lot of people seem to be.

This whole poll issue could be fixed if they just waited until October to start.

You know, I used to think that, too, but the truth is, I don't think the general public wants to wait.

I think they should do what is done for Ohio high school football, have a preseason poll, but don't have a updated poll until a few weeks into the season

OSU will be a preseason top 5..every year is a different team..no one is going to purposely keep them out of the title game if they deserve to be there.

All they have to do is beat USC and people jump off of their back. Beat USC..your in the title game..simple. Especially since it is away the first time around.

USC may not even have Pete Carroll..I think he wants oout because this Reggie Bush stuff is going to bite him in the ass if he doesnt get out soon.
