Still in the 2nd. Brudzewski just got a short handed goal to go ahead 2-1. Assist from Dobek.

End of the 2nd BG 2-Miami 1. Since BG isn't broadcasting the game tonight, I'm listening to the internet feed from Miami. Pretty good broadcast. One comment he made was really funny. "Unger is playing like he is 30 feet tall and bullet proof."

Final. BG wins 2-1. The Miami broadcaster was less than enthusiastic about the reffing. He was, however, very complimentary about Jordan Sigelut (he said lut rather than let). He said that he was the type of goalie who can put an entire team on his back and carry it. He also said that he was big and doesn't make false movements. Also--if you beat him, you beat him clean. He also said that BG is a much improved team this year. It is interesting listening to opposing broadcasters from time to time. Also, enjoyed listening to him between periods.

Anyway, congrats Falcons. 3 points this weekend. Fantastic.

Once BG finally stepped up the pace, they looked very good.

Biggest applause of the night was when a guy won $10,000 by putting the puck through the slot. Thanks to Frickers for the prize.

Right now we are 4-2-2 in the CCHA, and 7-3-2 overall. That puts us in FOURTH place in the conference! That's getting its own thread...

What a hell of a game tonight. Starting in the second period we began to look like the team that we are, not the team that had been playing for the past week or so. We controlled the puck, kept pressure on the Skinhawks' defense and got shots on goal. Only 20 tonight, but we can definately improve on that.

I was sitting first row in the student section tonight, and do you know what? Our guys were FIRED UP like I had never seen them before after the win!!!! Matsumoto alone was pumping his fist at the student section and screaming on his way into the locker room.

Honestly, as a student here for the past three years, I have never seen that kind of passion and enthusiasm from our icers. This is a great group of guys with great senior leadership and outstanding freshman.

If they can maintain this level of intensity and passion for the duration of the season, don't be suprised if we aren't contending for the CCHA division title come tourney time...

Can't wait to see this weeks polls! :D

That winner was Zach Dobek, Brian's older brother, who is a BGSU student working on his masters!! And btw, he has NEVER played organized hockey (other than kids' street hockey stuff) before! He's always been a baseball player! Unbelievable!!!!! Very cool that his parents were here to see it!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Wow, that is pretty amazing. The Miami broadcaster did mention it and said that he got the biggest applause of the evening. Congrats Zach!!
