This a new first. An extreme. BG's 1st half effort was so piss poor that I actually left at half time. I've never left at half before. Not even close. In my 30+ years, that was the worst half of Falcon basketball that I've personally witnessed.

BG showed no desire or guts whatsoever. Our performance was so pathetic that I sat their in the JAR struggling to imagine anything that could possibly happen in the second half that I'd want to see. After that effort, it's hard to feel anything but foolish making the 6 hour, $50 commitment to see the Miami game Monday night.

Unless a miracle happens in the second half, I'd like to suggest that the team and coaches apologize to BGSU and the athletic dept. reimburse the BG fans that traveled from NWO to see the came.

Sorry to be so negative. I'm just speaking the truth as I see it.

I can't believe I paid $8 to watch the game on-line, let alone attending the game in person like you. What a disappointing game. Not even Dean Smith could salvage this team.

Watching right now on the computer and there has been a Cameron Madlock sighting...4 points and looks very athletic even though the game is out of reach. He has to see some minutes when it counts..we are just wasting a year for him if we don't.

That WAS crap. But it was only one game. It showed tonight that we are relying on freshmen (Joe Jac/Knight) and sophmores (Larson/OP). They are going to get their AZZ handed to them on occasion. They aren't ready to win at Akron.

But they are 2-2 having played @ Kent, @ Akron and v. OU. If they can compete against Miami on Wednesday the schedule gets more manageable.

Mark it down: .500 in conference with a Tourney win! Pass the bugs!!!!

Yessir, it was just one game. I think back to the OU game for perspective.

I don't know if you actually saw or listened to the game. This may be a situation where you actually had ot have SEEN it to truly appreciate its severity. Today was remarkable. It was well outside of what our biggest nay-sayers would've expected.

Our performance was beyond infuriating. Personally, I didn't leave the JAR angry, but rather disturbed and concerned. Teams can have very bad games, but BG's performance was so severe that I feel obligated to stop and wonder if there was something "extra-curricular" behind this. I wanted to find out if "something's up" before lashing out.

Now, if you'll pardon me, I have a bottle of Knob Creek waiting for me down stairs.

And Miller was a woeful 3-10. I can't believe how bad we are at the line.

And 9 assists, with 20 turnovers. Gonna get blown out every night you put up numbers like that.

That was simply a horrible experience. We made Akron look like Kansas out there tonight. Worst trip to the JAR yet. Down 18-2 just several minutes into the game, we couldn’t hit a free throw to save our lives (finishing 10-25 for the game!), or a shot for that matter (33% for the game), we had five more turnovers (21) than made baskets (just 16) and three times as many turnovers than Akron did (only 7). The only bright spot for us tonight - other than the fact that the roof at the JAR didn't cave in on us - was that there was a Cameron Madlock sighting, albeit a brief one. But his short time on the court looked textbook compared to his teammates tonight. Madlock was almost our leading rebounder and was one of our top scorers having played few minutes. The last few weeks we’ve seemed to be making baby steps, I can only hope this game doesn’t derail that progress and that we can bounce back Wednesday against Miami, a team much better than its record indicates.

Let's face the facts, this team on some nights couldn't beat a very good high school team! Seriously! On other nights they can compete with anyone in the MAC. 7-9 in the confernce will be a great year.

This game was truly embarassing and you cant blame it on the coaches student athletes need to give a better effort than that. However, I have said this before a .500 record would be a accomplishment with this team. I think that the combination of a new coach, losing your second leading scorer, the youth of this team, and the coach only beginning to learn the leauge will lead to a tremendous rollarcoaster ride.

This team will have games that will amaze you both ways ( Ohio and Akron). I think that there could be a few slight adjustments made. First would be to start OP. The second would be to go small and let Cameron play more, clearly he is not redshirting give him an opportunity. Lastly I was in BG last year and I know I am in NC now, but I thought last year Marc Larson had no bussiness on the floor and listening to the radio he seems like he has flashes but only because we have decent gaurds this year. I think he should only play in a MOP up roll unless Otis get into foul trouble. I also think coaches might suggest Marc transfering next year.... I just curious what eveyone else thinks of these comments... I love talking B-Ball and there is not alot of talk latley so I figured I would put in my 2 cents a little more.

I think I would prefer to let Coach Orr make those decisions, as he knows a hell of a lot more basketball than any of us and also sees these kids in practice everday, and not just in a few games. I think the coaches have a much better understanding of what individual players can accomplish, than any of us that just go to games!

Sitting at 2-2 in the MAC with the losses being to Akron and Kent at their place is not calamitous even if the margin of defeat in this particular game was.

I'm a bit concerned about the shooting in general. I like what Coach Orr preaches about spacing and running, but his teams at Seton Hall were known for a grind-it-out, ugly style, and we're beginning to take on the same personality to our detriment.

Defense is important and "Your field goal percentage shouldn't determine your winning percentage" is all well and good, but at some point you've got to put the ball in the basket. A lot of teams have hired consultants or even assistant coaches (Florida State, for one) who specialize in teaching and refining proper shooting form and technique.

After the number of transfers BG has had over the last five years or so, I don’t want to see anyone leaving BG anymore. Larson is still young, and he’s competing. Right now he’s a Falcon and I want him here until his eligibility expires. That goes for every single one of our guys. Until we start retaining players and start reloading instead of constantly replacing players and rebuilding as we’ve been doing for the last five years, we’ll never make any progress to climb into the upper tier of the MAC. If BG thinks highly enough to offer these guys a scholarship, then I want to see them in uniform for four years, period. How much they play is up to our staff from that point. I know most of these guys were recruits from the previous staff, but they are our players and I support them because of that. The only thing I want to think about concerning transferring and BG hoops is someone transferring in to play, not out to play elsewhere. I am so tired of Senior Day being essentially non-existent at BG. It seems like we either don’t have one in a respective year anymore, like this one, or the ones we do have are JUCO’s who make it through two years, and even that didn’t work out this season.

Keep in mind though, that it wasn't Coach Orr that offered him a scholarship. Just as Dusan and the coach came to a mutual agreement about Dusan leaving the program, I wouldn't be surprised to see the same thing with Larson. He's had soem decent games, but doesn't look athletic enough to be able to compete in the MAC.

In response to the poster... clearly Larson has proven in practice that he should be starting or Coach wouldn't start him right.... unless he is using the year to evaluate talent? I am as sick as anyone watching players leave the program, however sometimes it is best to part ways with a player when a new coaching staff comes in. In my opinion I think the move would be good for Larson and BG. I totally agree with Wart... he is just not athletic enough. I think ORR is probably pretty good at teaching big men and it looks like he is doing a great job with OP who appear to be progressing... Larson not as much
