just stopped by to say "howdy" to all the Falcon fans and to say I'm looking forward to our series begining this fall. I'm a Wyoming alumnus living in Virginia, but I hope to make it out to the game in Laramie. How many of you are planning to see your team play on the High Plains?

Thanks for stopping by! I've been looking forward to this series with Wyoming for a few years. I won't be able to make it out there for the game this year but look forward to seeing the Cowboys in BG the following season.

Can never start early enough with the upcoming season! What do you see as strengths for Wyoming in 2008? Any areas that need help? BG has about 19 starters coming back, including all the skill players, but we need to rebuild our Oline as we lose 3 of 5 from this past season.

I've been to Wyoming once when I was a kid...our parents took us on a jaunt from Ohio thru MN, ND, MT...then down thru WY, CO, KS and back to the Midwest. From what I remember, WY has some beautiful country.

Man, that's the $100,000 question. After a promising start last year by beating Virginia at home and going 4-1, the Pokes went into a slow decline, ending the season 5-7 -- this included a 50-point blow out by the hated Utah Ute and a beat down by the even more hated BYU "whiners" in Laramie. To top it off, Colorado State, our main rival, took back the Bronze Boot and they were also a very crappy football team.

The highlights of last year is that Wyoming's defense was in the NCAA top 10 for most of the year. But on the offensive side of the ball, Wyoming got worse and worse. After a brilliant game against the Cavaliers, the Cowboy's offense went in the dumps. The next best highlight was a late game comeback against Ohio in Athens and a first-time win against MWC rival TCU in Laramie.

To save his job and hopefully salvage next year, Coach Joe Glenn fired his Offensive Coordinator Bill Cockhill and brought in Bob Cole from Florida Atlantic to replace him. Wyoming will return senior running back Devon Moore and a stable of pretty good receivers. QB Karsten Swenn a lefty from California will be a junior and he'll get some competition from a Dax Crum, a JC QB also from California. Hopefully, we'll get better play from our relatively young offensive line. I have no concerns with the defense as they'll be solid again, particularly in the linebacking corps.

How's it looking for the Falcons?

We are planning on making the trip. Actually, my wife and I were just in Laramie, Wyoming last summer. We made a stop up there while vacationing in Boulder, Colorado. In my quest to see every D-I football stadium (which I’m over half way there), we saw Colorado, Colorado State and Wyoming on the trip. I like Wyoming’s stadium. It sort of reminded me of what BG’s stadium would look like if you put upper decks on both sides of what we have now (just grandstands), minus our endzone facility. Both endzones had either a videoboard or scoreboard in it and they were both tree-lined with tall evergreen trees. The basketball arena sits just outside of the northwest corner of the stadium and they were building a new fieldhouse just outside of the northeast corner (which I would guess is probably open by now). Two things that I got a kick out of at the stadium were, one, the giant cowboy boot in the one corner of the north endzone, and two, the “Welcome to 7220 Feet” painted in between the lower and upper decks on the east side. Wyoming is the highest stadium above sea level in D-I. And yes, the air is thin up there. Just walking up to the top of the stadium, you could tell you weren't getting as much out of every breath. It’s definitely an advantage for the Pokes. The elevation in Laramie is so deceiving because while the town/campus sits in the high plains, you are way above sea level. I also liked the west part of campus by the oval (I think it was called Prexy’s Pasture), nice buildings, landscaping and we also stopped by and saw “Big Al” while we were there – the dinosaur on display in the geological museum on campus.

It's an interesting place and I'm sure your fans will enjoy the trip. I'm looking forward to coming out to BSSU year after next. I plan on driving over from Northern Virginia. I think it's about an eight-hour drive.

ahem...dont count it more often than not no one comes to BG play partner.....by the way leave virgina and go home where the air and life is much clearer

DC, I'm looking at making the trip out. As far as any non-conference road games we have this year, Wyoming is the closest. In addition, this will allow me to knock off two new states off of my list of remaining states (CO and WY). Looking forward to see what mountain air is like.

Right you are on the 8 hour drive....My sister goes to school at Mason....it's not a bad trip though, so long as you don't mind tolls in the mountains (PA Turnpike) and tolls on the flatlands (3/4 of the Ohio Turnpike)...
