If you're a student - at any school - as I recall, you get the student rate, which was $5 or so a couple of years ago. It may have gone up a bit, but it can't be much more than that. I remember being surprised that my BG ID got me a student rate at the "cavern." It is one of the few welcome surprises you may get in cow town. :-D

The MajorFalcon family will be attending both games at OSU.

Freak, you need a place for you and the Freaklings to stay? You are welcome if interested.

I'm a yes for the game too.

Maybe we need to have a pre-game get together?

My wife and I will be going to at least one of the games that weekend.

We went to a game at the Schott two years ago and bought tickets at the gate. Attendance was pretty poor, but it took forever to get through the ticket line. Not sure if it is normally that way, but I'm going to buy tickets in advance to avoid standing in line with Buckeye fans who will certainly still be complaining about the BCS title game.

There's a good chance Svillefalcon and myself will be making the trip down to Columbus that weekend for the games and to spend time with some of our hometown buddies that go to Ohio State. If we see you guys there, great. For some reason I missed pretty much everybody in Mobile.

My fiancee and I will be there as well. I saw them play MSU two days ago, and they did not look like the OSU teams of years past. Sloppy passes and a lack of effort. I was cheering for a 0-0 tie, but MSU won 4-1 with a empty net at the end

There's a huge, free parking lot that runs from the Schott at Lave Ave. north to Ackermann Rd. I recall my wife and I walking ticketless from the far reaches of that lot Feb 12. We were astounded by the enormous line for tickets! We bought from a guy standing out front and were seated behind the west goal three rows back.

I also recommend the Varsity Club. Tommy's Pizza is an institution, with two locates on Lane Ave., one "on campus" east of Olentangy RR and one west of Olentangy. I don't recall if Tommy's serves beer, though.

We used to go to one OSU hockey game a year (v. UM or MSU) and Tommy's was a must every time. I miss that place. I'd recommend it as well

Oh yeah - Tommy's serves cold ones.

I always have to stop there at least once while I'm working the Ohio State Fair. The ringmaster and I love that place.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Josh and I will be there for sure Saturday night! I am trying to talk Jake into going so we'll have his Falcon Screech but he just got a new hamster the other day and is all excited about that. Mrs. Freak wants to take it easy this weekend as she was in Huron last weekend.

Would it be best to buy tickets out on the street? And as far as a meeting place, I'm open to any suggestions!

FF, didn't we eat at Hoggy's a couple years ago? That's not a bad place.

Yes we did and the food was good too, IIRC!!! What do people think about that? Which location is closest to the Schott??
