DE Rickey Spratt

Post by rocketfootball »

Three star defensive end Rickey Spratt still had not made his college decision as of Sunday. He says his favorite is Toledo, but is also considering Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, and Ball State.

It really sounds like it is coming down to Toledo and Bowling Green though.

Scout.com seems to be the only people that really like this kid...IIRC, he didn't make the News or Free Press's top 50/60 lists in Michigan and Rivals (they call him Spertt) has him at a low **.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Scout.com had his name mis-spelled originally too, but Rocket Digest interviewed Rickey and his coach a few months back and got the correct spelling entered.

Rickey only played organized football for two years, as a junior and senior in high school. Because of that he didn't receive the same recruiting presence and accolades as others and he will be a steal to whatever school he picks. He might need a year or two in their program, but once he comes around he is going to be very good. Scout.com rated him three stars based on his size, athletic ability, and performance at the scout.com combine this past summer. He outplayed several other defensive lineman.

Rickey was named 2nd Team All-Detroit Football by the Detroit News in 2007.

Sounds like the kind of kid who could really blossom with a redshirt year and good coaching...

Very well aware Karl - just couldn't help myself in throwing a little jab @ our "friends" up north. And as far as "subtle" is concerned - see trainwreck.
