Season/Playoff tickets

Post by dforde »

Does a season ticket package include tickets for the playoffs? This season I bought two season tickets and seem to recall the letter stating that the package included tickets to the first round of the playoffs. Last year I even recall that the playoffs were included but we never hosted a home series and I ended up donating the few dollars to the hockey foundation. Anyway, today I got an application in the mail with a letter from Greg Christopher "inviting" me to purchase playoff tickets. They are $36 for each series (3 Games). Got any insight on this? Am I losing my mind?

This week I received an order form for playoff tickets, urging me to buy so I could have the same seats as my season tickets. I don't recall what the season ticket form said, but I am forced to conclude  that playoff tickets are not included season ticket packages.

Last year I bought a new car. Several days later it stopped running. I am forced to conclude that a perpetual supply of fuel was not included in the price of the car. :?

One day last month I went to Pagliais for their all-you-can-eat lunch buffet. Two weeks later I went back again. I am forced to conclude that they expect me to pay with each visit.

Last week I bought a new pair of shoes. The continued cold sensation around my feet and ankles has led me to conclude that socks were not included with the purchase of the shoes

At least Freddie got all the spellings correct this time! I will say he's been entertaining lately! One can only hope that the PP has been changed this week - it could get real interesting if ole' Freddie starts chiming in on that issue!

I will say, his creativity and wit are something to behold!

As a bit of a ticket man myself I am of the thinking that you jack up the price of your Season Ticket Packages to include any and all potential home playoff contest.

This serves a few good purposes. You get more money upfront while still offering a per-game price break to ticket holder. Then, when it comes playoff time you don't have to scramble to sell tickets to season ticket holders who want to come but might be too busy to respond to mailings. Label the tickets in the season ticket book as PLAYOFF GAME A, PLAYOFF GAME B etc. If the team does not make the playoffs or only uses GAME A then you can either offer a refund of the cost of unused playoff tickets or offer that as a down payment/credit toward for the purchase of next season's season tickets.

I think what I have outlined not only saves a headache on trying to sell tix for playoff games that aren't on any one's magnet schedules or calenders, but it also takes the onus off of the fan to take action to get tix.

Dayons_Den what you propose IS too logical. I agree wholeheartedly with your plan. They do give a choice to the ticket holder if all the play-off tickets aren't used. BTY maybe you should try your idea out on the ticket manager, there's going to be a new one soon.
Really glad we're typing about play-offs--- it's been a long time.

Dayon's, you've pretty much just outlined what the Cleveland Cavaliers do with their playoff tickets.

Hey anyone know if students still get in free to CCHA Playoff games? I would really hate to have to buy tickets and although I would cough up the money, I'm sure alot of other students wouldn't and our home ice advantage would not be as strong.

Of course, we won't have much of a student section during the first round of the playoffs because it is during Spring Break. Hopefully students will come back early.
