Toledo Game
This was the first game I was able to see the team play with my own eyes. I think the team plays with alot more heart than in past years. I enjoy how Orr switched from man to zone on the defensive end as well. Offense still looks like there is a lot of standing around going on, however the occasional fastbreak is nice. PG is still not where it needs to be. I think Joe will be a soild point guard in the MAC but he turned over the ball way to much, but hopefully getting experience as a freshman will help. The thing that I enjoyed watching most is that the team looked like they enjoyed playing the game and that is something that was lacking during dans final years in BG. All and all great game and a good win.

As far as TO's go yeah JJ had 6 of em but so did JR. Darrell Clements. Many of the To's I saw were of the ball handler trying to be aggressive and the receptee not being where he was supposed to be. JJ will be fine, you would've seen much better games TO wise from in other games. I wish he would drive more cuz he's an excellent finisher for a freshman.60yearsofsicsic wrote:This was the first game I was able to see the team play with my own eyes. Falconboy, you completely made this word up, but instead of calling you a dumbass (wouldn't want Globetrotter to think I'm a "bully"), I'm going to give you some props. I like the word, and may use it in the future. You're a pioneer!Falconboy wrote:

Recipient, receptee..... what's the difference?!!? We just beat Toledo!! And sent their jackass fans home with a second big-fat "L" (the first being the one that's always smack in the middle of their foreheads!!)

I'm still riding high off of this win! Not only did we beat those jack asses, it was also the first time I've gotten to see this team (watched on ESPNU). I've listened to just about every game this year, but I had no idea how exciting this team actually was until I saw them. Anyone can say whatever they like about Dakich, but damn did he leave some talent for Coach Orr to work with! Between Miller, Moten, Larson, Jakubowski, Polk - we have a hell of a team that has a TON of growth potential!

Carty lost 4-3. They showed the two mayors holding up the BG flag after halftime and it looked great! I just hope Carty doesn't ask the flag to leave 4 hours before it arrives this week...Rightupinthere wrote:Screw all this. Great win, but how did the free throws go?
Did Carty get an anthem sent his way?

Anyway we can replace the BG banner with a USMC flag? That would be AWESOME!

Madlock's still pretty raw. I don't think Orr really wants him coming into close games unless they really need him. Polk, and even Larson at times, were playing well so we really didn't need another post. OP played well enough to stay on the floor most of the 2nd half, no need for Cam.Globetrotter wrote:Saw we only played 7 peeps. Any reason why no Simms or Madlock?
As to Sims? Cannot really say except that he's really been struggling and in recent weeks has only played when we've absolutely needed him. He's come in late in blowouts and he's played when our other guards are in foul trouble/struggling, but really he hasn't played many meaningful minutes either. Nor has he really done anything to earn more PT when he has come in the games. Not really sure what we have in Sims at this point.

Larson did some nice work when he was in...particularly on the defensive glass...but there's still a noticeable difference in the way teams attack the basket when he's out there and OP is out there. Teams seem to fear Otis a bit more.
The team is definitely a work in progress...But I think sense that some really good things are in store for BGSU basketball on the men's side...

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
