Definitely not greyshirted. That's tough to get into, but it involves waiting a year after HS before starting your scholarship. Not applicable in this scenario.svillefalcon wrote:any word on whether he will be grey-shirted? considering he hasnt played in any games this year?
However, he will almost definitely be eligible to receive a medical redshirt. For that he'd have to petition the NCAA and ask for an extra year of eligibility. However, since he hasn't played at all this year I think he'd be able to just take this as a regular red shirt year, since he was not red shirted initially. Basically, he'll still be a junior next year since this year will not count as one of his 4. After this year he'll have 2 more years to play 2 more years.

Thats what I meant, I tend to usually screw up the terminology. Thanks for straightening that out hammb. Hope to see him play again for the Falcons.hammb wrote:Definitely not greyshirted. Regardless of whether or not this year is a medical or just a regular redshirt I think he gets two more years. i think the medical aspect only really comes into play if he should....knock on wood....need more than 5 years to complete 4 years. So we have two more full years of Knight, Marshall Polk and Larson togetherhammb wrote:Definitely not greyshirted. May have been confusing, but I realized halfway through my post that he likely wouldn't need the medical aspect to the redshirt. This will be considered a standard redshirt year. If he were to get hurt again (hope not) this year alone would probably guarantee he'd win his case for a 5th year.
