That was a really nice "W" for the guys! I liked what I saw of Larson and Polk. Knight is an animal. If Coach Orr can get him in the weight room, we are looking at 1st team MAC next year! He has some serious skills.
I'm really impressed with the difference Coach Orr has had on this team. I really like the job he's doing by instilling a system that the guys have all bought into. Within two years, Coach Orr will have us contending for a championship! I know we're not that far out right now, but I'm talking about a 20+ win season, owing the Q in Cleveland, NCAA tournament and so on....

I find it rather interesting that over on the Toledo boards, they are putting much of the blame on losing to BG on the fact that they lost their starting point guard to "who know what", but not even mentioning that BG was also without their leading scorer and point guard from the start of the season also!
I guess everyone needs an excuse!!

Just reviewed the two posts about the BG game on the MACBBs. I'm old and my vision is going so if you could post the quotes where Kashif Payne is mentioned and highlight them it would help. Maybe type them in caps 'cause I really struggled with locating them. What I saw was: (First post)factman wrote:I find it rather interesting that over on the Toledo boards, they are putting much of the blame on losing to BG on the fact that they lost their starting point guard to "who know what", but not even mentioning that BG was also without their leading scorer and point guard from the start of the season also!

"Terrible defense, terrible rebounding, and going weak to the basket"
"Terrrible freethrow shooting"
"Miserable rebounding"
"What's with Amos' behind the back dribble in the key"
No mention of Payne- someone did mention that the starters are getting too many minutes. When your starters average about 30 to 37 minutes, well, I agree that plays a part.
The second post by the way quickly deteriorated into an attendance thread but even there Rocket fans said the Rockets stink on the road and gave no reason for it other than we stink on the road. Again I just couldn't find that reference to Payne.
Any help you can give me with anything about Payne or any other excuse would be very helpful. I know you can do this because you have the facts...I just couldn't find them. Thanks in advance.
Edit: I may have made a faulty assumption. I forget we have a couple other boards that I don't check. I was referring only to the MACBBs. I'll check the others.

Try reading between the lines there you ol' fart!h2oville rocket wrote:

We'd have won with Payne
"Terrrible freethrow shooting"
Too bad we didn't have Payne
"Miserable rebounding"
Payne wouldn't have missed two dunks like Kent did
"What's with Amos' behind the back dribble in the key"
Payne wouldn't have dribbled behind his back

But I'm still perplexed, Factman. On one of the other boards one poster mentioned that we lost a lot when we lost Payne and three senior starters- again no one blaming the loss on not having Payne- just mentions the roster's depletion and the difficulty in replacing the lost seniors and Payne with Freshmen. The only other poster clearly blames Stan by saying "I blame Stan".
I guess FM is reading between the lines too.

Maybe Carty feared that the sight of the flag might frighten Toledoans. I figured he might yesterday...

Oh,see- THE post on ONE board. I thought you said:factman wrote:Maybe if H2O would spend a little more time on the scud boards and not so much time here, he would see the post on Rocket Report to which I am referring.
"...the Toledo boards, they are putting much of the blame on losing to BG on the fact that they lost their starting point guard..."
My bad.
But I did read the Rocket report.. no post that blames losing Payne. Maybe it was another board..keep looking-
