Gymnasts Stage a Huge Floor Rotation to WIN

Post by falcongymfans »

The BGSU gymnastics team snatched away a win from Central Michigan on Saturday night in the last rotation of the evening. The feeling in the gym was electric all evening long. Going into the last rotation they were down to CMU, but staged a great Floor rotation to take back the lead and stay unbeaten in conference competition.

The ladies on the competition floor did all the hard work, but the fans made the atmosphere fantastic. Even with a Basketball game running parallel to this meet the crowd was substantial and vocal.

This may have been the single most electric meet I've ever watched since I started following the team 3 years ago. You could just feel that something good was going to happen.

Let's rally behind these athletes and pack Anderson Arena for their last two home meets of the season and the only two in Anderson this year. Pass the word to anyone and everyone and show up big for these ladies. There are special things planned for both meets

Friday March 14th @ 7pm NIU & EMich
Saturday March 22nd @ 4pm v.s. Kentucky

Was the gymnastics meet scheduled at the SAME time as the women's basketball game? If so, WHY?

I think it was this way from the beginning. I'm sure scheduling is very difficult and nearly impossible to avoid some of this.

To their credit I know I saw Greg Christopher for at least the first half of the gymnastics meet and I'm pretty sure I saw Jana Blais too. They probably left to see the second half of the BB game. Boy did they miss a great finish in Eppler  Though it sounds like it was an exciting 2nd half of the BB game also!!!!

WHAT A WIN!!!!! Central has been at the top of the MAC for the last decade. I don't know what I am happiest about; 3-0 in the MAC, beating CMU, or knowing that we didn't hit everything so there is room for the score to go up above 194! What a great position to be in. I'm looking ahead at the schedule and I really like what I am seeing. We go to Western, and they have not been putting up great numbers this season until this past weekend at EMU where they scored a season high 193.000. The meet at Kent will be tough. In addition to winning the All-Ohio with a 195.15 they put up a 195.600 against George Washington. The Flashes are absolutely DOMINATING at home. We will have to have the meet of the season to have a chance. Then we close the MAC schedule at home against Northern Illinois. This meet is up in the air for me. The first meet back after the shootings will determine the tone for the rest of the season. If they pick up where they left off it will be a competitive, close meet. But this team has the talent to go 6-0. My guess however, is 5-1. I am happy that BG gymnastics is strong and will only get stronger with Kerrie and Shannon at the helm. GO FALCONS!!!!!
