I hope I'm wrong and they do give him a chance. It would be one the great stories in coaching: "mutual decision" to leave BG after 2 straight losing seasons to a non-coaching position at Indiana to an assistant coaching position at Indiana to the head coaching job in less than one year. At the very least, he wouldn't have the time to go on Norm Wamer's show to compain about the floor at AA.tiznow wrote:Transfer that is a good point. IU fans seem to want "one of their own". DD is still loved for the way he played the game.transfer2BGSU wrote:But I do not believe that Davis was an IU grad. Folks in Indiana remember the game against Jordan and Dan shutting him down. They already went down the Bobby Knight assistant road with Mike Davis and it was frustrating for both parties.
I think the IU faithful can get over the "Return from Morgantown Debacle" a lot easier than BG fans.
It would be a desperate move, but they're in a desperate situation right now so you never know. The current IU president has close ties to Myles Brand, so the Knight connections might not carry as much weight as they otherwise would.
